why? you want to have fighting powerbuild? ok have it, but deal with consequences like you cant do anything other... you want to learn more things? ok you can, but deal with it, that you can do more things, but not perfectly...
There's simply not enough stuff to do in this game with just a single character, in my opinion. People need variety. Part of the point of the original games was playing through many times to try different characters and strategies. That's what the original games were designed for, and FOnline uses basically the same items and skill system from the original games.
You're even MORE limited in FOnline, since most skills need to be pumped up to at least 150% to be useful at all. You could have a bunch of 100% skills in the original games and do PLENTY of stuff without failing all the time. Case in point: Repair; apparently if it's not 180%+, you're better off not even trying to use it (and that's with a Super Toolkit). Same goes for weapon skills. In the originals, 90%-100% was fine through most of the game, 120%-140% were fine at endgame.
Perhaps if PvE gets dungeons and explorable areas (rather than watching a red dot walk in circles on the map), and if gathering and crafting are expanded and made more complex, then you can limit people to just one character. As it is, gathering, crafting and PvE are fairly simple and limited — which is fine, I think the devs have done an excellent job making basically an online version of a single-player game, but it needs expanding.
In short, this game is mad fun, but only if you get to experience all it has to offer... unless it's expanded in the future.
