Hey guys,

so I got one of those login problems myself. The address in the config is correct and none host is set up. I created lots of accs and it keeps saying at "It was not possible to connect to the server". Sometimes I also got the connection established, authentication and the incorrect password or login line. But right now just when the servers online it keeps saying "It was not possible to connect to the server". What should I do?



edit: LOL guys I just made a test character and it worked, im happy even though i have to wait 5 mins to make a real char now : (

Did you get this solved yet? I had the same problem and solved it by changing a video setting on my laptop. Try checking video properties, Settings, Advanced, Troubleshoot and see if you can increase your hardware acceleration at all. I bumped the slider up 1 notch and then my game loaded just fine.

At first, I must say, I do have a crappy computer, yet I managed to run on it some things that are surely not supposed to run.
All stuff is updated and working as best as I can make it, and generally, system is stable and OK.

Did you knew, that "Fallout 1" ".dat" files does not work for "Fonline"? Yeah, you need to use "Fallout 2" ones. At least that's how I was able to fix my first issue. Happy about it, clicked PLAY from the launcher. Awesome fallout pic, and we are back with the launcher again. Let's try again, and maybe again. Ok, enough. Let's call Dr.Google! Yey. Finally I am here, in this thread, draining my eyes with 17 pages of text. Even drifting to other pages, following many repeated instructions, updating, deleting evil cache, rechecking hosts ports and proxies and all, just to browse random "FOnline.exe" startup pictures over and over. Later on, one of posts gave me idea to reduce resolution even below 800x600, to 640x480. And what do you know? Success! Finally I got to menu, where I can click a button. Then a scream is heard: "The game might not run properly if resolution is lower than 800x600 or greater than 1280x1024!". How very true... I see my 640x480 pixels. But the rest of 800x600 pixels are beyond my vision range. I was sure I couldn't contain them in my screen using physical force, but that was a thought... Let's try with 800x600 again. Ends with another random pic. Other resolutions? *** in a face. 640x480 again? Still do not fit... Ok... Continuing with google rape I got fed up more and more until I quit. Just right before I was going to do few healing headbangs, I happened to do, what a sane person with calming tone would call in a one word: "amassivemouseclickingmadnessintheFOnlineconfiguratorv230focusingonvideosettingswith800x600resolution". Let's click once again PLAY, before I "shoot down". WADDAYANAW? All is happy, all pixels firmly holding in their rightful positions. What a wee! Let's create my ill-fated character with useless perks and messed-up skills. All is good, character made and registered. Let's click the ultimate PLAY button. For doing so, I was face to face with the lovely, yet ultimately depressing view. Oh no, Marko, it wasn't the wastelands at all. It was the agony, widely known as the "Blue Screen Of Death", telling me about "nv4disp.dll" and stuff.


Was it because of my characters low luck and jinxed? Or maybe perception wasn't high enough to sense a trap behind a PLAY button? Well, we will never now, as my bleeding hands are no longer able to try create a new character with different, more lucky attributes... With the last breath, my head lands on alt+s

You should try reinstalling the game (going into the installer and pressing the install button again, make sure you test this 7 times with update included).

Or, try these step by step:

1.Left click on "FOnline 2238 Launcher"

2.Scroll down to "Open file location"

3.Once your inside the file, copy everything in there.

4.Make a new folder

5.Paste all of the programs you got out of the launcher file into your new folder.

6.Test it by using the application (its called FOnline)

If it dosen't work, there might be something missing you need.

Thx. I copied whole game to another location as you instructed. Dunno if that helped, but this time I had more luck. However, not for too long... I successfully entered game, checked my inventory, etc. Walked to nearest city and once I exited the world map, I appeared in the city... ...and then, for the fifth time, saw the same blue skies again...

minutes later
...

Started the game again, PLAY, appeared in the city for a second and BSOD. Btw.
Fallout 2 runs fine.

hey if i was a trouble in the past annoying every body  but i think i figured out the problem maybe it was the rainbow glitch i had so im working on it please don't get mad by the way wont let me uninstall or install
Edit: hey im not sure but i probably didn't get frameworks 3.5 so i was stupid i think it might work
Edit 2: hey great game got it fixed dont use 4040 as ip use fallout 2 master and critter .dat use the updater.exe then your done simple
P.S if you get not stop loading use the same screen resolution as your computer is k

yeah uhm I decided it would be cool to try this again because the ifrst time I tried I spawned next to a million guys in power armor that gave me one and said I had "TO FIGHT FOR MOTHERLAND"

so uhm went ahead, installed, ripped my FO2 dat files and yet nothing works

I tried everything and it would be cool to play this w/ a friend of mine

BTW I haven't pirated the game and I ripped the files directly from the CD

Server status is showing online with 14 people logged in.  Launcher says server is offline.  Can't connect.   ?

I tryed to log back on last used char- don`t work,
I changed location of fonline- don`t work,
I cleaned down cache- don`t work,
any sugestions, any solutions??
