Okay, so I wanted to reinstall the game to get a new interface.

I had reinstalled FOnline with the MASTER.DAT and CRITTER.DAT files about 13 times or so (I wasn't keeping count, but I know I reinstalled it more than 7 times)

Does anyone know why I have more problems installing the game unlike others?

I know that server may be offline now, but why server status image still shows that there is over 200 players online and uptime 20 hours?

It is outdate and frozen for some reason?

Refresh script of that image most probably stopped working.
However there are lot of other ways how to get current server status, for example topic of #2238 channel on IRC (or #serverstatus channel), http://www.rookie.name/fonline/playerStats.php, etc.

are you able to log in or does it happen when you bring up the client and you get at the menu with registration ?

ok i can start the game and regester but when i start it up the game loading screen freezes

Ok, my problem is the whole "update your client" thing. however, when I click the update button, nothing happens.

About your Update problem:

Don't use the link on the Launcher, find Updater.exe in your FOnline folder, and just update from there.

Here is info for Updater, in case it isn't already filled out:

I wanted to reinstall fonline after a long break but I've run into the grey screen problem.
I've searched this site for answers but nothing seems to help.
My drivers are up to date, patchdatpath is correct, master and critter dat are correct, deleted the proper cache, checked my display settings, tried running as admin, and updater says i don't need any more files.
I have windows server 2008 and only two resolution settings.
I get the same crash on 600x800 and 1024x768.

Any help i can get would be very appreciated since I'm all out of ideas.

P.S. I have also tried to reinstall to the C drive and the desktop several times

Make sure your FOconfig is set so that it works.

Other than that try to match the FOconfig set there.

Thanks for the response but it still wont run.
In the log it says something about a d3 error.
I'm going to try and look that up.
