Engine related maybe?

Would need a lot of changes in the engine, also new animations for the crouch and crawl stances and a rework on how to hit calculations work.

Would be cool as hell to see it though, would make the game way more interesting and diverse.

I dont understand, why they cannot just use fallout tactics models for just that.

Or the game in general, instead of developing totally new models.  As I understand other projects are able to do this.

About animations, they shouldn't be hard to make when 3D models are ready. The real problem, I guess, are the required engine changes.

Also, throw stones at me, but I don't think it should be done, we already have a lot of problems with combat balance and I personally don't think that adding a new combat related feature would do any help to a game which is already too inclined to combat anyway, and lacking other elements.

Fallout tactic models would look kinda out of place, also the 3D models are also almost implemented so i see no point to have tactics models in the game.

@Eternauta im really with you, if they should add anything new it should be less combat oriented activities like more quests or stuff for traders.

In my opinion switching (graphics)spirit of F1 and F2 for F:T is a big no no

Plus some critters from tactics were distored and ugly (Mutants, deathclaws)
Only ghouls looked better in Tactics... and maybe dogs

I would prefere FTOnline intead of FOnline engine/graphics etc. but since its FOnline its better to leave things where they belong and where they should be.

...and imo, FT Deathclaws looks way better.

Only their fur and movement animations look better... Take closer look at them. They aren't the same species than deathclaws from the California. Theit horns are bent back and they got an additional horn on their noses. They aren't Rhinos dammit!

Well they aren't same species if you compare them but I was thinking of FT Deathclaws as an improvement of thier look/conception.

But I agree with additional middle horn, it looks a bit lame.

It looks very lame!

However... i wouldn't mind seeing FO deathclaws having their animation improved as though they were from tactics except for the heads and fur

I didn't want to post here because it has already been discussed a thousand times and I don't have a real knowledge of the technical part (which is the real problem), but:

Right now, you can use as many covers as you want, as many strategies as you want, in the end, it will always be about two guys standing in front of each other and trying to click faster than their opponent. I'd love to see some new combat mechanics. Using covers properly (or crouching) is the first move to do!

Fallout tactics has 8-direction models, FO/FO2 have 6-direction models.

Static graphics can be imported- like desks or non-moving vehicles.
