Risk vs Reward.I'm sure you could get a few players together as guards, lead clients out to the wasteland to your car and then drive them out into the wastes.

And added to your BA quote.  Umn BA even after whatever nerf you have coming to crafting is still a HELL of a lot easier to make, and re-make should you lose it.  18k-85k+  NOT easy to remake.  Look at what happened when you made bases, thing that cost TONS of caps.  You had them visible and people lost things, stopped playing, and the forums were full up distaste.  Now only something VERY bad can take a base away.  Cars are pretty much in the same boat.  And those of you beating on the "cars are not mobile tents" drum should note many of the cars that small groups and single players will ever think of buying, have limited space.  Repair and upkeep with fuel also limits some of the driving, again as a balance so that not every bluesuit with a 10mm pistol is gonna be using them all the time.

First, post-wipe server message says player owned cars cannoot be seen is not entirely correct.  There is a 10 minute FFA.

Second, it takes a few trips to the mines to get the resources to get BA, weapons, whatever.

Caps are practically non-existant and TC is pretty much the only way to reliably get them.  Not only do the big gangs excel at TC but I have no doubt they have agents camping the vendors as well waiting for vendor caps to repop.

So now cars are 38k ish for the lower tier ones.  Thats equal to low tier bases.  I am sure you would get some interesting responses if you equated losing BA to getting your base raided.

I need help, I was traveling near SF with my car but I leave it at westland to buy some MFC so I go to the city but I died 3 times, and now i cant see my car...Can I take it back? Why I cant see it? How long can the car be stayed at westland?

Well it sounds to me like someone found your car and lockpicked it, or found the key and then magically found your car.  Gosh I guess it's not really worth buying one if it's taken away with such ease.

I dont leave the car near the city, I leave it 6 squares right to the city

so cars are still pretty much useless, as they can be stolen too easy? what is the use of that 10min FFA..... it totally ruins the whole "owning a car" thing since cars get more and more expensive with each bought car in the game.... a buggy almost costs the same as a hummer now.....

Then by your logic, cars are useless, people will stop buying them and the price will fall.

The good thing about dynamic prices is eventually they will settle (roughly) in the region they are worth.

wait... as i understood they only get more expensive....not cheaper, if they do get cheaper then what is the amount and timeperiod the prices drop in?
(and why not make cars that dont have any storage space  and sell them cheap..... i dont care about storing crap in it, i just want to travel faster than a snail)
and why did you implement the 10min FFa anyhow? it pretty much ruins the whole car update

it kinda does if they wait around for you to return and then whack you, steal your key and make off with your car..... since there is a loading delay on client side but not server side, you could be dead before you even enter the map your car was in
oh and btw.....since movement has been slowed so much.... why not make fuel injectors easier to find?

So drive your car 10 of the 30 miles you have to go.  Then drive 15 miles out of the way so you can [safely] park your car then walk to where you were headed.  Wait a LARGE amount of time to help ensure whomever may have stumbled onto your car might have gotten bored.  Then walk all the way back praying you waited long enough and you don't get killed in some random encounter by any number of crap.  Get back to your car, drive and go home. 

(isn't there already a post about this game being a simulator of waiting?)

I really thought the whole point of the changes to cars was to make them more available.  I know you guys are probably frustrated that we're not just jumping up and taking your changes like a dog with a bone.  But you asked for our help testing this game, and currently the car system still needs work.

Has the price begun to fall yet? When cars are worth their minimum amount we could see noone uses them. A sinlge player isn't really in the position to say the global take up of cars.

u are wrong Solar, if there was a fixed ammount of caps then alright but thats not the case here, TC gives tons of caps which can be used to buy mercs or cars, if u buy cars and make their price higher u will make urself and ur faction even more powerfull than other factions, also u nerfed all builds u made players twice weaker than they were before the wipe but militia stayed as it was, 20 guys + gauss pistols 300 hp etc ...
