Well, it's a tough game, the OP's grasp of English isn't that great (so he said himself), and he (apparently) has a laggy connection.

I'm handling one of those (the tough part). I imagine people can handle the English language barrier just fine, if they locate friends who also speak their language.

But all three together? I'd probably leave, too. That's super-tough.

I just releasied the guy hasnt replied since his first post.

Funny he came here to talk about his troubles and we proved him wrong but he isnt here to see it.

i was reading that topic since i made it...
i created tent by help of some nice guy and i realized that my character is sh*t.
im already testing like 4'th build now

anyway:
wiki is opened all the time (mostly just for world map but i use it for other stuff)
before i start playing i read begginers guide, but seriously that was written by h.lvl guy and its a little harder to do than it rather it can be expected.

problem of vicious players that kills everyone around is still available (and thiefs start to be pain in the ass).
 Im just saying...

Its not that hard. 50% of success is a good build, 30% play skill, 20% luck :P So far Im hunting/criting scorpions with BB gun (yeah I decided to be hardcore) and I encountered 2 peaceful encounters.

You also need to decide where to start and farm...

... and NCR is not the best place if you ask me. Crowd, thieves, bombers, and around city you can easy meet unwanted guests with many bullets they want to share with you. Try Junktown or Hub, all resources can be found nearby.

Hi,

i played Fonline whole day. It was great when i heard that there is multiplayer fallout2.
First steps were really hard (so i was thinking to myself). But when i reach around 50 death and lost again all my eq that game became really annoying.
Yeah i get it that post-nuclear world is killing-ass but lets say that... beginners dont have chance in this game.
those are my Insight to the game:
1. Making tent is really hard...
because firstable you need to survive long enough with farmed equipment to start killing bramins. And even then you can encounter marauders that kills with one shot and so on and so on...
Shouldn't it be easier to contain items in bank deposit? or instead tent (dont know how its looking like), first object to craft should be storage box (like 10 flints 10 junks 10 wood to farm) and tent would be upgrade to that
2. Another thing is that players also dont help and the beginning... i mean that sneaking ones in NCR that throw nades in crowd
its really pissing of when another player kills you when you just start playing... what chances have 1 lvl with no eq vs xx lvl with armor and guns?
and why the hell some dude is still killing newbies even when they just have trash in their eq... thats just wasting ammo
3. Almost no quest in game...
few quest is not an option... Fallout was "THE GAME" because really f**ing cool story in epic world. That was making that game so cool.
Why not implement some event simple quest to increase lvl for newbies? that would be nice start and gives some chances against rats ;P

I would guess that 90% players that leave that game was because that 3 points that i just written. Remember that bigger community means more cash for developer - so they would have more desire to work at this project.

besides that that game rocks!! but i wont get back to it. Maybe at next wipe ;)

There are many factions recruiting including me, if you join with other people game becomes piece of cake. Sadly yes, playing alone is slow and boring, current game doesn't allow soloing.

Dont be bored many players are in non-PK alliances....

If you understand, polish isnt hard point. Rusians are mostly hard pkasss...

P.S. NCR are most known town full of thieves bombing and etc.dirty jobs.

It was safe on 1st and 2nd age....that times was gone.
Tanker guest is cool.

Reading all of the complaints on the boards about 'omg even the rats kill me!'.

I think the most pro tip you can give to a new character is 'run away'. Nothing has high enough Action Points to chase you and do damage. So you can 100% guaranteed leave every random pve encounter without taking damage. If you are trying to fight Marauders with your lvl1 naked unarmed guy then well, you have yourself to blame.

I still run away from certain things with my lvl21 character.

I'd say about 30% of encounters with another player end in a gun fight. Which might seem high, but if you move away from the squares just outside of NCR, then you barely meet anyone ever anyway.

That is simply not true, in RT desert stalker and dogs can catch you if you don't run immidiately after entering encounter...
In TB there are also various strong monsters with more AP than most of players, especially the famous Endless Walker :)
But your advice is good - most of time this game is about running or waiting.

You forgot Desert stalker. He can walk almost all across the map.  :o

Well if its not true it is 99% true.  I've ran away from plenty of Desert Stalkers with 9 AP - I've never killed one thats for sure.  Remember they start 15 hexes away from you usually and you generally get the first turn.  If your character has super low Agi and poor sequence then maybe it's not possible, but your first toon is unlikely to be that 'specialist'.

Continuing with a bad build if it's not too bad, actually might teach you a thing or 2 about the game.
At least it did for me.
I decided to level my 3rd or 4th build to level 21, despite the fact it's not that good.
S.P.E.C.I.A.L. on that build isn't too good, neither are some of the perks I've chosen.
Nevertheless by leveling it to 21 I learned more about the game as I traveled more to do quests, met some nice people on the way, etc.
I learned a lot to make my 2nd build a lot better (still nothing compared to the real power builds).
Use the character planner to see what your build turns into.
It will save you a lot of playing time with bad builds.

As for NCR, as you're obviously are playing around it, NEVER enter the caravan encounters you see on the map.
They're traps by pk.
Expect thieves, bombers, pk, etc. in NCR, so always use preview first before entering NCR (goes for every town).
Consider using the entry/exit point at Vortis.
Use the Transparent interface mod or move screens away so you can always see your character and who's approaching it.
Tag people red so you notice them earlier.
Stay away from crowds.
Don't take anything you don't need into town.

You'll still be killed from time to time near NCR.
Accept your losses or hunt elsewhere.

There are many factions recruiting including me, if you join with other people game becomes piece of cake. Sadly yes, playing alone is slow and boring, current game doesn't allow soloing.

It's easy to level an alt to level 21 alone.
I did it with 2 of them.
It can be done quite fast if you know which quests to take and where and what to hunt.
Main problem is the first time you do it, it's fun and exciting, after that it gets boring quickly.

My brother had Kamikaze trait and 7 PE, he still couldn't move first, he had 9 AP but he still died. I guess Desert stalker didn't use aimed shot, that may be it.
