Hi and thank you for this great game.

In a previous post i got some informations about cars and i think you should allow players without charisma to drive the capacity of player in a car (a player with 1 charisma can drive a car of 8 people). Effectivelly a "train" character is fastest than a car and cars are not used by people (why should we pay at least 100k, use fuel, make repairs while a character is free)
Furthermore it can allow the "train" player to have a real fight character cause for the moment train are not very interesting to play, make caps more usefull for big team (when you have bases, stuff etc etc caps are useless) and we should see more cars in game cause for the moment they are just used in order to gather ressources.

Maybe driver can be a new job ? taked between 60% outdoor for cars and 120% for helicopter ? Or futur scout job ?

What do you think about that ? (vote poll ^^)

The driver job :

In order not every 1 charisma characters can drive full cars i think about the possibility to create a new job "driver" giving a charisma bonus when using cars, for example at lvl one a +2 Charisma bonus (a 3 cha character can lead 4 people in a car). In order to get this job i think about :

Needs in order to drive cars :

- Buggy 2 places = 40% outdoor
- Buggy 4 places = 60% outdoor
- Hummer 6 places = 80% outdoor
- Cadillac 8 places = 100% outdoor
- Helico 10 places 120% outdoor

Needs to become a "driver" :

- lvl 1 : 60% outdoor / 4000 caps = +2 CHA bonus
- lvl 2 : 80% outdoor / 8000 caps = +2 CHA bonus
- lvl 3 ; 120% outdoor / 12 000 caps = +3 CHA bonus

The job isn't needed in order to drive cars (you just need outdoor) but the job give the CHA bonus (and why not a speed bonus on cars). This job will allow a 5 CHA caracater to lead 10 peoples at the lvl 3 driver job.

This feature will give an interest to cars, create a new driver build, reduce alts or dual logs ("driver" build will be more interesting than a 10 charisma leader to play), we will see more cars in game, make caps more useful....

For the french guys :

Pour le moment les véhicules sont inutiles (ou presque) en effet un perso leader est plus rapide, cependant à part faire le train il ne sert quasiment a rien. Les véhicules sont chers, demandent de l'essence et de l'entretient tandis qu'un personnage ne coute rien mais empêche plus ou moins la personne qui lead de s'amuser (avec 200% en outdoor, 2x pathfinder et 10 de charisme le perso est plus ou moins pourri) en PVE ou en PVP.

L'idée serait donc de permettre à un personnage avec 1 de charisme de conduire 8 personnes ou plus selon la capacité du véhicule. Et pour que cela ne soit pas trop déséquilibré (enfin il faut quand même avoir au moins 100k donc ...) éventuellement intégrer un métier "conducteur" dans le genre 60% outdoor pour les voitures et 120 pour l'hélico, qui rapporterai un bonus de charisme.

Pré requis pour conduire un véhicules (outdoor) et CHA nécessaire pour le remplir :

- Buggy 2 places 40% outdoor
- Buggy 4 places  60% outdoor
- Hummer 6 places 80% outdoor
- Cadillac 8 places 100% outdoor
- Helico 10 places 120% outdoor

On peut même imaginer 3 lvl pour le métier :

- lvl 1 : 60% outdoor / 4000 caps = +2 CHA
- lvl 2 : 80% outdoor / 8000 caps = +2 CHA
- lvl 3 ; 120% outdoor / 12 000 caps = +3 CHA

Dans l'idée où le métier n'est pas indispensable pour conduire un véhicules mais nécessaire pour gagner les bonus de CHA et donc au final porter 10 pers avec 5 cha.  Dans ce cas tout le monde pourrait conduire mais en ayant le métier ont disposerais d'un bonus.

Du coup cela apporterais un plus aux véhicules (un bonus sur le nombre de personnes portées) sans pour autant permettre a des perso avec 1 CHA de porter 10 personnes. De plus un petit coup de pré requis en outdoors pour piloter les véhicules cela permet même de crée de nouveau build "conducteurs".

PS : Je pensais à mettre un petit truc en plus pour l'hélico peut être un petit 60% de science ? Mais c peut être cher payé pour seulement 2 places en plus et comme le dit Izu la science ne sert pas a grand chose...

It's a good idea, but i think driver job is not necesary...

Yes it is a good idea for the charisma 1

But I think vehicules need more changes. For instance, cars could be more used by players if we could not steal keys. Keys should not exist and cars should be stolen only with at least a 200% repair skill. But cars should stay lockpickables...

In general yes, but during post-apocalyptic era modifications are more than common. Perhaps a few seat outside of the chassis for drive-by shooters , then again in some cases, in a minivan for example, maybe even 7-8 inside in the expense of the trunk for loot. In larger vehicles, such as vans, people could try to sqeeze in the back of the car and have 8-10 guys there and in front the could be 2-3 guys. Due these game mechanics what we have now, having a large group with you is only a plus, but thinking through realism, having a dozen of armed men inside one vehicle is a vulnerable target, even with armored chassis.

- two people having the keys
- make a tent near fight location

Better Idea to make car usefull is to make travel throught 1 square on map on foots take 3 minuts - and much faster in car - there- cars will be usefull.

Hello there! It is a postapocaliptic world where almost no water is wasted for hygiene purposes and thus - EVERYTHING smells there, so it's not an issue ;p

BTW idea that driver needs to be charismatic is hillarious  :D

It doesn't make a lot of sense, but it's also a necessary limitation to stop charisma from being absolutely shitty. I'd go the opposite way, and say players with 1-2 charisma shouldn't even be able to join friendly groups. If you want to be a 1 charisma loner, than the game forces you to be. If you want to spend any time around other human beings, you're going to have to take charisma.

You're wandering through the desert, closest town is 2 days away (by foot), your water supply is running dry.
Then i show up, driving total rustbucket, opening a door and offering you a ride for 100 caps

Would it make a difference for you if i were smelly, annoying, mean asshole who's beat with an ugly stick?

Now tell me that it's charisma that counts most in this case
