Great Idea, you know a fair deal of newbs leave shortly after starting because they either don't know how to build a tent or constantly fail to amass the 10 hides required for one ? You planning what, to increase the amount of newb ragequits ?Seriously, think before you post such bullcrap.

I think the first tent could be given for making a simple quest near the starting locations(tent could be in a random place but somwhere around the Hub, VC and NCR, where playerstarted). If player would want a tent in some better spot, then would have to get the hides.
Yeah, this is a must.Also, add blueprint for tent.
Don't forget to make sure tents can only be craftable in the advanced workbench in the Gun Runners' Fortress, it won't work anywhere else.Serious note> I think players should be able to craft a "Tent" item and use science on it instead of carrying the 10 hides around, easier for mid-range players who don't have bases everywhere to make quick removable outposts and easier for newb charity since you won't have to haul hides everywhere.As an exchange for this lighter and easier to carry "Tent" item, one could add the requirement of 10 hides + 4 sharpened poles to craft such item.
