First notice how he said you "probably" deserved it.  There are of course innocents who get jailed wrongly but in most...civilized countries what you say does not happen that often.  Also if your caught with weed, and weed is illegal in your country you broke the law, thus you deserve to go to jail regardless of your opinion of the matter.  Until that law changes you do indeed deserve to be in jail/pay fine or whatever is deemed necessary by the court.
