Roleplaying Character ideas

Here I would like to make a list of Ideas for characters that would be involved in some way in the roleplay project, for when it finally arrives.

1. A dog. Everybody loves doggies right? They can go around licking people, or if angered growling or even biting. Maybe make 3 or 4 people dog characters.

2. Kids (already started) Of course! The wasteland needs kiddies! But if you want to hear more about that http://fodev.net/forum/index.php/topic,24026.0.html

3. Stupid tribal. There always has to be a few retards in town. :) Maybe go around trying to make friends, and maybe befriends a small child.

4. The tough guys  (bare torso long hair and bare torso bald) Maybe these two guys will hang out all the time and bully people.

I could keep giving ideas all day, but go ahead and give your ideas. I'm interested in hearing what kind of creativeness you all have.

How about enemies walking around....
here's example:
i would really like to have that frank horrigan skin with a high hp burster build. edit: i called it first :P
We could use it to host small mini events

I doubt the real Frank Horrigan would be strolling around the hub though. lol it probably wont happen. Good thought though.

well we could rp that he and some thugs are trying to extort money or something (Frank lost his job after the explosion accident at the endgame) how he survived? well they put humptiedumtie back together again (by some tribal scientists :P)

How about Master. He could walk around with floater guards. Wait, he can't walk... hmmm nvm.

Let's be serious. It's Hub. No. FOCKIN. Enclave. And no Supermutants. They don't fit there.

First of all: Please don't rush. Wait for town description/setting. Project will not start soon.

All I can say for now how it PROBABLY will look like: there will be 2 kind of player characters in Hub:
Crowd Characters and Story Characters.

For Crowd Character it's enough to be described as "tough guy with bare torse" or "cheerful kid",
or really to just not break project rules. Story Characters will require more conceptual work from
players and will be treated differently by GMs. To put it simply: Crowd Characters will be like
background actors in a movie. Story Characters will be like main cast.

Crowd Characters shouldn't be directly harassed by GMs as long as they will stay in background
of events and won't do anything spectacular or significant - just socializing, trading, hunting, etc.

Story Characters must be ready that unexpected things can happen to them anytime and that
they may be used to unfold some important part of Hub story (for example characters controlled
by GMs will contact them). They should be also ready to cooperate with GMs in some things.

Of course Crowd Characters can try to jump into the events anytime, but they will never get that
much GM attention, simply because GM won't have much information about the character, and
because story characters deserve it more.

Typical 2238 char visiting hub to trade, take perks etc would be Crowd Character.

Character with nice RP description or running some project in town would be Story Character.

hmmmm....to bad about no enclave..
i'm not rushing Jovanka but i've got ideas that's all.

how about a robot and a boxer. They might fit in.
idea 2

1 Name: stranded in hub 'MR handy'. always on the look out to help players with stuff.
can offer (trough the controlling player) small quests.
              -quest 1 offers 50 caps to anyone who can give it 2 metal parts enabling it to move
              -quest 2 (the follow up quest) escort to a place so it can install boxing program reward: item or 200 caps
              -quest 3 (the follow up quest) defeat it in a boxing match  reward:???

something else.



2. Name: Lefty.   Rich boxer that wants a boxing match against a worthy apponent.
                        quest 1: fetch him an item that proves your though. (don't know what right now) reward super stimpack
                        quest 2: beat him in boxing match reward:????

by the sounds of it Jovanka still has a lot of convincing to do among the community and devs in terms of quelling skepticism.

Perhaps what would help is for us to 'pledge' characters that we fully intend to play as once this thing starts. So as well as listing cool ideas for possible roles having people promising to fill roles within the project will give the devs a more realistic idea of what this thing may look like once it starts, and no more or less than we actually intend to fullfill.

Most satisfying kill of the game imo. Nothing like minigun bursting her and watching the tiny pieces spray everywhere.

The Capitalist

The bastard of a prostitute the man known only as the capitalist grew up alone on the hard streets of New Reno. He saw the blood of many men seep into the dusty concrete, glistening in the light from the Desperado's neon sign. He watched and he learned. The real powers in that city were never the men holding the guns, it was the men holding the caps. Thugs and lackeys came and went but the rich men kept the city alive. When the mordino family caught him cheating in the casino they were impressed by the complexity of his system and offered him a job, keeping their books or death. He accepted and worked there for years, watching the family grow and the rise of "big" jesus mordino all while skimming caps from the casino. He fell in love with a girl half his age with a sharp wit and a beautiful body and tried hard to keep her out of the mordinos employ. One night during an attempt at robbing the casino he took advantage of the confusion to escape, taking the caps and disappearing into the night with no time to warn his darling. After he left with no warning she had lost her support and turned to prostitution, eventually becoming the madame of the cat's paw. He fled south to find the followers of the apocalypse and bought himself an education in business and pre-war history. He knew that it was possible to restore humanity to it's previous glory but it must be done by providing people with a stable existance free from raiders and thugs. He then left to build his empire, investing what he had left in a caravan and spending years travelling the wastes. He became wealthy from his shrewd trading and the mordinos caught wind that he was still alive. They leaned on one of his workers and set up a raider ambush, the caravan was slaughtered but the capitalist was taken captive. The raiders had heard of his wealth and knew it was locked up in ncr, much more than what the mordinos had promised. Life under the raiders destroyed his illusions about creating real change and hardened his heart, he took the situation as an advantage and started advising them to the routes of his competitors and shared his knowledge of ncr patrols. He convinced them that since they couldn't get into ncr they would have to work out a deal. He would pay them to send to the Den the slaves they would have otherwise killed at half the rate while hitting all the caravans but his. Now based out of the hub, he lives as a ghost, never seen but holding all the purse strings. Men kill in his name having never met him and die the same way, all for a taste of prosperity. Now an old man, he has sits and remembers the names of his foes, the love he left behind. His time is soon coming, but not before theirs.
