If you get instakilled in a random encounter (other player moved in) this has nothing to do with a "hard game". For the game to be "hard", there first must be a chance that you actually can fight back.
It's the same if I would login to my GM account, roam the desert randomly and shoot players in random encounters 4 the lolz. Sounds pretty fair huh? Or will you complain that you got killed without a chance to defend then? Following your logic, this should be completely ok because the Wasteland is harsh and there are always people stronger than you!11 Right?
Seeing how those Mercs still have superhuman reflexes and can shoot things on sight this is far from being "fair". Again, dieing because of bad odds with no chance of defending has no reason to stay in a game, no matter if it's about "the wasteland" or not - there is no difficulty involved. If someone "earned" these mercs by whichever means it does not grant him the right to exploit the game and kill people in situations where they (given gameplay mechanics, loading times etc) can not defend themselves.
So balance game and make 1st level guy kill 24 lvl guy, make them happier, your post didnt bring anything to disscussion but only make me flame things :S.
It is harsh for its atmosphere, it is hard because one guy got minigun and can insta kill, yes and what can be done against it? ban or what? You need to deal with it and go get minigun and payback or just die again whining more that game mechanism is hard, tell that to Devs to change some level req's to get killed by other player...
It isnt fair, but what you'll do with it?
Look at people in Africa that are poor - they can be enslaved by local gang , and forced to work for them, also others are killed , is it fair? No it isnt and we cant do shit against it, if whole community dont help, as it wont help because at least 50% of players dont care.
Personally getting instakilled isnt fair but what? Many times I was killed by some BoS vs Gecko while got crafted 100 cw and should I ragequit because of "stoopid game mechanics" or first report that bug?
There was also other topic there whining on that player could enter other's player encoutner and kill him - is it fair? Is it intend or fail game mechanic? No its just normal thing in the world, and roaming around the cities may e deadly, because some guys will always scout for newbies and kill them.
If you find way to balance 1st level vs 24th lvl tell me please.
Talking about chance to defend is like getting a crafter character versus some pvp ape charcter, Imagine which one got more chance to survive and kill each other? Iam just saying this all the time that you can't do against that for now, but need to get more tougher, and dont go in same place if you did die there.
Talking about instakills because someone wait in encounter for newbie is just same, you can't do shit, you'll make rule that one cannot camp for newbie or ban for it or what?
