game is alot harder this era . we wont get many noobs staying to continue to play. with pks and harder barter and mineing systems they will find this game impossiable and will rage quit alot. i think all we need is for devs to see this and for them to smart up. they have a great suggestion from wichura http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=18977.0 they need to put this in game now or something like this. game is too hard for noobs and we need more players all the time. so please dev's do us alll a favour and implenment wichura's suggestion or something like it. noobs need to be taught basic's before being put into this much much much more harder wasteland.

Ya, maybe coders should create a noobtown Arroyo, where they will level up to 3 and gain all 10 brahmin skins! Srsly!
~~~~
Game is hard for newbies, but this is a test of your own character. If youre playing first time thats 99% chance you will assume your character build as shitty and create new one anyway.
You should learn that everything you achive you already lost. It makes playing and loosing far easier. I'm quite a noob in fonline, this is my first wipe. But I learnt already that if I see a player on my encounter, I run like fuck or fight immediately. I felt sorry just once when pked guy with 8 brahmin skins. Tried to find him in NCR after that but with no success.
If you have problems with building your own tent, PM me, I'll help this time. But if you already have your tent, why are you complaining anyway? ;] Moment you have your minibase is the moment youre starting the game.
This is the answer I like. I like your idea. You and Surf know why I am so dissapointed with game. I will not quit, I was just pissed off. The game mehanic must be changed in future.
  Thanks!
The funny thing about 2238 is that it doesn't really have a legit difficulty curve. It doesn't get harder the further you go, there's a giant difficulty spike right at the beginning and then it gradually gets easier and easier to the point where the only thing that can pose a challenge is a group of highly experienced players with top-tier gear. If you persevere, you'll eventually get there, but yeah - it's a pain in the ass for a beginner. Oh, and what Surf said isn't really all true - people who have been playing this game for a while and are a part of a gang don't really die all that often and when they do, they don't lose all that much aside from voluntary PvP. The thing is that you're going to die and die again before you gain the knowledge that allows you to take the right risks and weight your chances correctly. My advice for you would be to get a tent (make an unarmed alt, kill some brahmins, hide the skins in some location where you can pick them up with your main before somebody else finds them) and store your stuff there. Death doesn't really hurt if you didn't have anything of value in your backpack.
And why it has to be changed? Because u died couple times? O_o
Just imagine: i have few chars, and havent been killed by other player this session! Why is that? Because of experience. Not my char, but mine.
Just think and it will be fine. If you are collecting sh... i mean junk: u wear nothing. There is no need to whine if u get killed, cause u lose nothing... u follow?
If you want to mine, choose low-players hours. And wear nothing.
If you want to hunt, choose some empty square, and lvl up.
craft bbs, and hunt molerats.
If you dont know how to do something (lvl up, gear yourself etc) just ask, but dont force everyone else to play lame-no risk game, because you cant handle simplest things.
seriously man, whining about getting killed is so retarded.
This game is definitely difficult for new players.  Though I like the idea of a tutorial newb island, it will still be quite a rude awakening once new players enter the main server.  Another potential option is a grace period for the first 2 or 3 levels of any character where if you die, whether by pk or npc, you are able to respawn with whatever you were carrying at the time of death.  This period would allow new players to acquire a few materials, get hides and make their tents without the frustration of dying and losing everything repeatedly and yet still experience how difficult and harsh the wasteland is.  Maybe something like this will be enough to keep players from quitting after 2 hours and hopefully long enough for them to hooked on this game like the rest of us.
I see there's no point discussing with you Surf, because you just think that your opinion is the only truth we should all follow. People who like to kill weaker and unprepared players in a game like this are sick/brain-damaged from your point of view.
You like fair competition in gaming, they also like the less fair situations. I understand them and see nothing wrong in it as long as it's just a game(FOnline is basically created for such stuff and most people including the developers don't want to change it).
That I wanted to say.
Iam playign this GAME (overall starting from cbt TLA) since 2008 , then this server for 2 years, I see nothing have changed with game mechanic to help newbies - nothing.
And Its my look - from player eyes, not from some fancy GM which is playing once per month at his main character and pissed off those mechanic.
Why don't you let to help making game easier some other people, who are playing this game , server for long time, isntead giving it to lulz guys, that got job, and many other things than testing this, but only coming inside game and creating stupid events with zylions of mutants, trolling and banning - why don't you play like a normal gamer or a hardcore gamer like some does, then you'll see what we are talking about.
Surf I'm dissapointed.
That's why you should take it with grain of salt. Obviously this is the part of beta that haven't received any love yet, and things has to come.
I think you could dig up some interesting ideas why and how this can be improved, but it often creates big design problems that need to be resolved before anything happens.
I'm sure I saw ideas like level-based encounters, which were not directly denied, but were not implementable without consequences either.
Don't want to rain on your parade, but implementing this stuff is a lot of hard work and there are more important things left to do on the devs' checklist I bet (quests, more developed endgame, balancing, bugfixing etc.).
It's all about knowledge of the game and skill, that you will eventually get by being persevere; don't even try bothering proving me otherwise, from my personal experience I can tell, that the first time is a bitch, but eventually you get the know-how and atm there is no difficulty curve for me at all. The start might be a bit slow and sloppy, but not hard. Once you get your beginners shit together (tent, a weapon skill and farming capability), the game starts to snowball like a no big deal.
These things annoy me, you just know that the person who writes these tipes of threads just want attention.
"Quiting game forever cause was killed for no reason numerous times"
We were all killed alot. Im here for near 2 years, what do you think, how many times was i killed?
But there are FREAKS thinking killing newbies is fun.
Yea, its that kind of a game. And calling people freaks becose they love to play that way is just wrong, kinda the same if i called you a woos for not likeing to. You do what you like, and the others do what they like.
Open world and all you know. If you dont like to kill newbeys you do not need to. But since this is a open PvP game you have to count in the fact that some people can shoot you down. Its a part of the game. Dont like it? You can leave, nobody is forcing you to stay.
Actually, they are scared that new players will be too much challenging for them if gain few levels.
HA! Just lost it here. Dude, just how old are you?
They don't giving us newones a chance to play normal game.
There isnt any giving involved. You dont need to get a chance to play a normal game, you allready have it. This is normal. Yea getting killed thousands of times is normal here, if you plan to stick around, this will be a norm.
It should be some  free time for new players not to be killed or not be able to kill others till level 2-3.
I think even when you get to lvl 15 you will get killed the same, hell if you have the nerves to stay till 24 you will get killed. Alot. Its a part of the game.
This way game sucks.
This game has been active for years. Yet you who has been for what... A week say it sucks. This game does not suck. You suck at the game.
Fonline is easyer than ever. You start with some 70 (give or take) hp with a lvl one dude, its still fresh from the wipe, so you get a chance to lvl side by side with the "big dogs"
Dont bitch. If you want to quit, for the love of god, quit without making these kinds of threads. They only start flamewars.
Interesting, still, as much as I'd like to side with the poor players that get killed over and over, I just can't do anything else than call them faggets, you know. I guess the reason is that they seem to think we all came to this game, sturdy and strong as fuark, formed powerful factions from day one, or are just lucky, or whatever.
IMPLYING we didn't go the same path as you did. IMPLYING we got everything handed for us. Nope, we were just like you, new players, once, we just manned up, stopped being pussies and got our shit together. Question is, can you?
This topic is great !!! Some freaks just wait to grab some smg with few bullets and "gonn'a kill newbies" for some fun cause they don't have nothing worth in their inventory!!! Why not fight alone against some high leveled armed group + few merc's? That would be fun! But no! Chikenshits are brave only to fight newbies cause they can't fight back ! Chickenshits, chickenshits !!!!
