Well, the best sci-fi anime I've ever seen is Cowboy Bebop.  There's also Ghost In the Shell.  Both of which were already mentioned, however I don't know of a soon-to-be apocalyptic sci-fi anime.

I watched a Cowboy Bebop movie once and it was pretty good.
Ghost in the Shell, Appleseed, Akira and some of the other mentions sound really good but I don't know where I'd go to watch/read them :P why did they shut down OneManga?

I just discovered Samurai Champloo (well I watched the whole 26 episodes in 2 days)... Made by the same guy than Cowboy Bebop, and really, really awesome.

I'm not very skilled with mangas.. so can anyone suggest me some short mangas?
Something romance+drama like or maybe action.

How can you be not "skilled" with manga? Trouble reading?

Fairy Tail.
If you like One Piece or Full Metal Alchemist, that'll be your bet. That's pretty comedy and action.

As for me... , Macross, Jin-Roh, Akira, Cowboy Bebop, Gunnm, Last Order, Trigun, Desert Punk, (postapocalyptic) Zipang, GITS, Legend of The Galactic Heroes, (you'll like it if you liked Banner of the Stars, hail Abh Empire, hail Kaiser Reinhard;)) Armored Trooper VOTOMS, ('realistic' robot wars).

Oh, did i mention Evangelion? Liked Gurren Lagann for hotblood. RedLine has this awesome style, too.

Ah, i see. Well, i have had my problems with reading manga too. In Japanese.  ;D

No seriosly. Btw, do anyone prefer digital or printed versions of manga? I honestly enjoy printed ones, i even got me Re-Take printed.
But i can't keep tons of them at my flat, so there's another solutions, too. Paid, of course. ;)

Best anime with dubs was Black Lagoon in my option :)
But yeah I'm sure too that there is many other anime too with dubs, you just need to find them.
