I want to be sure about this:
If I took the Loner trait, does it mean that I can't have ANY followers (even brahmins and dogs)?
And if I have this trait, can I still follow someone else?

I think you can't have any companions or mercs, players maybe

Nope, your party points drop 1 and stay at 1... even if you do increase charisma or speech, it will stay at 1...

Hmmm, I wouldn't be so sure about those party points, because i found this command ~pp, and it shows that I have 0/35 party point used (I have Loner trait, 3 Charisma, and 15% Speech).

But I've tried to buy a ghoul melee merc in Gecko (according to http://fo2238.fodev.net/wiki/Followers#Charisma_.2F_followers_amount_table he needs only 35 party points - exactly as much as I have), and I was told that I'm too ugly (even uglier than a ghoul).

Use beer also, 3 CH isn't enough.
Or get poisoned/radiated and lower your EN.

You can throw it away. It's one of starting items or cave loot, something like that.

Only in Glow and Ares and think it takes a few hours for them to respawn.
