If you are a new player don't bother with armors until you get to levels like 12-15. Most likely you will die a lot and it's just a waste of time and money. I mean, you can wear some robe or old leather jacket to not look like a complete loser but if shit hits the fan, it's very unlikely that even the best armor in game would save you, simply because you have too little hit points. Better learn to avoid dangers early on, and really the only way to do it is through painful experience of dying

You would lose a lot of time to steal mostly crappy items from newbies.
60 seconds inside HQ mine (Redding, BH, Gecko) = ore worth over 6k caps. Then you can spend 20 minutes on other things

Do quest items disappear on death?  Was doing holodisk for thomas moore, but died while spawning into ncr train station(was making caps for day pass to get into city).  Come back and get everything but the disk is gone, am I boned?  Already tried getting another from westin but no dice.

Well quest items shouldn't just disappear, but should be like any other item.  Somebody probably snagged it.

Can I somehow redefine the key for changing the mouse mode?

Turn based is off, so I need to change a lot from attack to move and back again. "M" and "A" are a bit too far away and I need to click twice with the mouse so that's not very ergonomic.

 How log is respawn of iron ore and mineral ? Its always delepted in mines . Cant  craft anything without them.

Noob question here but how comes when I try to sell leather armour and other crap to a vendor they never offer me any caps for it? (and the vendors I been trying to sell my junk to did have caps)

Traders simply will not trade in stuff they do not generally buy/sell.

guy only sells guns?  he wont buy anything that Isn't a gun or a gun that he doesn't specialize in.  resulting in 0 caps.

Also, some merchants are more picky about the items condition.  I found a very nice trader that buys small guns and armor, armor being any kind and any det he will give some cap(s).
