About game and your playing style.
« on: March 10, 2013, 08:26:13 pm »

So, I've read some topics here, about players actually doing something in this game, the problems, and I came to conclusion just to ask players around - What do you want to do in this game, and What did you expect from it, What are you looking forward here?

I'll add special poll here, after I see any interest.

Also I'll check for in-game players, mostly NCR, because it is hard to find anyone in that big Wasteland.

So first answers to the polls with players were:
1 What do you want to do in this game? - meet with friends, do some quests, kill aliens(?), shoot something, craft, interract with other players
2 What did you expect? - same as I thought, more players, more activities, again more players.
3 What are you looking forward/any changes? - more players, more quests

What I want to do and I manage to do is minor crafting, farming, mining, blueprint hunting, occasional noob-pvp - with one alt. What I would want would be dropping the lvl cap, (possibly nerfing the post-24th sp, hp and perk gains).

I'd like to trade with other players that don't frequent the forums. Apart from spam shouting in NCR there is no other way for me to trade.

I would like more PvE missions and crafting to be more interesting.
I don't really craft (very very little), because it's not fun for me and if I don't have enough fun, it means I lost.
And I can't let myself to lose in this game. I'm focused on winning at any cost.

What do I do? Player versus player, with other players.

TC fights are cool. Before someone will call me a brainless ape - that's really not only about shooting. Whole these tactics, orders, preparations on TS are the best part of fun. I enjoy smaller actions even more though and I'm very sad, that there's no PvP besides TC/Reno (which is also about bigger groups) today. Duels or small 2v2, 3v3 fights on the wasteland or in some locations were extremely entertaining. I do crafting also, but I don't see any point of gathering stashes of pixels other than having stuff to lose in PvP (you rarely go in-plus in TC) and having the sufficient amount to have fun without thinking of losses (I like solo-ramboing bigger groups, you die frequently that way).

I was surprised to read this at the article from one of the other topics.

Pretty much the whole idea of T-888, and why that kind of nickname. I just couldn't have imagined a being more effective at that than a machine. :)

Sounds serious, but it isn't, it doesn't matter how much time I spend on a game, the goal is always to improve and be better, that is how I have fun. Even if it's 30 minutes in a day of http://www.quakelive.com or few hours, getting better at something is like breathing air for me.

2238 provides town control and interesting way how to battle it out, that's pretty much the only reason I play the game, if there wasn't that feature then I doubt I would have stayed in the game, but just dropped it at the very first months of playing. I saw that there is space for some fun competition and what revolves around it, without that the game wouldn't mean anything to me. With time of course I met some very cool and intelligent players, and saw more potential in the game with time, both are reasons why I am still here.

I didn't come here and stay because I'm a die hard fallout fan or something, though I very much enjoy all of fallout games.

And I can't let myself to lose in this game. I'm focused on winning at any cost.

You can't loose if you never try to win - if you never truly play.

I like shooting stuff. Even other players in PvP or whatnot. I used to do TC many sessions ago, but currently I just dont have time , or when I am on, I usually got other things to keep me busy in game.

I like interaction with other players in-game. I do not like hunting with them, but I do like trading with them. I like scavenging and bp hunting, and I like to trade for crafted stuff or other raw materials from other players. I despise crafting.

I would like to see more players, more interaction, be it good or bad.

Shooting, killing, raping (not base-raping)... that kind of stuff. I transformed from an NCR noob to a PvP noob. The only thing I really enjoy in this game is action. All that crafting, farming, trading is just a boring task I need to do in order to have some action.

I don't expect any extra content from this game, I expect players to go to unsafe locations whatever their business is, if they come to fight, great. I never liked shooting bluesuits but they mostly don't carry anything valuable and they can kill full-geared ape with bare hands (happened to me yesterday in Reno) so yea, even bluesuits have to be eliminated.

I tend to enjoy business and industry: barter, crafting, player-to-player trade, and--to a lesser extent--dismantler. I also like developing different builds, though the weapon and perk balancing isn't as good as it could be.

Now for some things I might look forward to:

1. More cap-paying fetch quests, one in the east and one in the west. The Modoc and Gun Runner quests are a good idea in that they encourage players to run trade routes between two different towns. FOnline could use more of these, and they would help both in player interaction and cap-earning for newbies.

2. Blueprints purchasable from NPCs. Blueprint hunters can still hunt blueprints, but for those who don't want to they'll have another option. In-game vendors who also give BP hunters an idea what to sell their duplicates for (stabilizing player to player market prices)

3. More NPC direct purchasers of the raw materials for caps. To help newbies better understand that pelts and not broken leather jackets make the world go round; it also helps keep forum and in-game markets neater with less players posting ads for random crapola, less barter window scrolling, etc.)

4. Maybe some kind of batch cigarette and nuka crafting in-base after a player has done individual quests for the necessary machinery. It's kind of stupid to make newb walkers craft these items individually, in unprotected areas with 2 minute cooldowns, when TCers get nearly limitless quantities. These aren't exactly game-breaking items, so maybe lighten up on the harshness restrictions that only affect a certain type of player?

Sorry I meant opinions, not if you wanted to say something to my mind, or to other posters to the other topic, or if it was any kind of sarcasm, well played  ;D.
But I ask you all to stick to the topic, if you want to troll, we got right above a great topic to do that.

Also I'll add something from me.
I've got like 28 counted alts in-game, mostly leveled up, and mostly just toilet alts to do the stinky job.
I'am doing many things in game like from scratch - scavenging stuff, collecting from mines, then crafting, farming easy encounters, visiting not-so-visited locations these days (Raider bases, Train Stations, SAD, Necropolis), then hunting with friends, just for fun - If I need loot, I would go rather alone--> then we go to the another point I do - it is PVP, mostly it was before just nuub shooting and running, then I've used to do some Hinkley fights, but Manero always killed me so I raged and joined back PVP faction, so I could enjoy the fun and rewards of the TC system.

Also I've created some alts, which were done for specific jobs like - brahmin hunting/trading, roleplaying Han(d) Solo, a guy from Enclave, of course crafter :P, shit shoveler, checking much hybrid-based builds, and so on.

At the beginning of my career, which was long time ago (do not look at the registering date) I was looking after creating a clan-alike PVP/roleplay group which I've been a member in FT, so it could be "BoS" alike, and afterall I'm in, but then - players respected each other, and we could have that kind of fun, then bad times came...

I'm looking forward for any changes with encounters, and their loot, because it's kind of funny, all those mausers and knifes... ugh.
Also I'm looking forward for some type of factories PVP handled, like TCs - but instead you put mats inside, wait 10 minutes, and got much much more product than done manually, but that's just a bit of suggestion, but I'm willing to see any changes towards making crafting more player-friendly, and more efficient.

Actually I think this would be a bad idea, blueprints seems the only stuff that have a market, beside rare items.
And if you dont want to use it , you may (farming or buying from shop)

1 What do you want to do in this game? meet players outside ncr. play with 1 alt, not 30.
2 What did you expect?  more players, more activities, again more players.
3 What are you looking forward/any changes? - more players

If BP's were availible from traders, id say they would be very very costly.

It would be nice to see the locker enc rate to be abit higher, it gets very boring, running in and out of encs for what seems an age till u find a locker.
It'd be more fun to LP 10 lockers that had some caps, armor, weapons. Than the locker you finally enc that turns out to be yet another super cattle prod BP.
Mercs caves should have chance of spawning locker and so on.

Oh, I hunt BP's alot, or what seems like alot to me. :P

I'm trying to a mostly honest man in a completely dishonest world. It's for the novelty.

Whhat I'd like is the ability to build my bases my way, enslave (arrest) wrongdoers, and make a living at it.
Oh, and powered armor. The only reason I started playing st all was T-91b powered armor.
