Title: some insight on upcoming changes (balance and more..)

maybe there is dev or gm that knows the upcoming changes and is not realy occupied working on the patch himself that could share info

we already know that Bonus rate of fire perk is gonna get fixed , yey we say but with fast shot working as it is i strongly worry about its synergy (same goes for bonus hth attacks)

any weapon / ammo changes ?

and what about leaks in economy ? traders get some love ? caves fixed?

Are guards gonan count for merc limit?
i.....
..
feel free to ask what bugs you wonder about to get fixed (just no suggestion stuff)

Both fast shot and bonus rate of fire used to work and things were just fine.Its not like its reserved for a select few,anyone can take the perk and I personally am looking forward to having it back.

Both fast shot and bonus rate of fire used to work and things were just fine.Its not like its reserved for a select few,anyone can take the perk and I personally am looking forward to having it back.
are you quite aware that with it you can have 3 avenger rounds with reload a round ?
another thing are 1 AP melee/unarmed attacks with BHtHA (maybe melee is not good for pvp but its still heck strong in all other times..

Just remove Fast Shot effect on unarmed/melee. Only in Fallout 1 it's working this way.

Why to remove fast shot effect from unarmed? Well its called fast shot, but its about not aiming precisely, and thats may effect Hth attacks the same way. What about hits for 1ap? dont worry, if u have good ranged weapon build, then melee fighter won't even hit you once.
Ps. HtH users can hit for 1 AP even now, if they know how.

No one is getting three bursts from an avenger,its not even possible to do it.I dont know how long you have been playing but before the last wipe we always had both fast shot and bonus rate of fire and things were just fine.Like I said before its not like the perk is reserved for a select few players so it wont be unfair for anyone.If your really worried about someone having an advantage well thats the name of the game.Make a build to rival all other builds and have some fun.

Now that I think about it maybe three bursts is possible with drugs.I dont know because I never use them,and i honestly still dont care.

No one is getting three bursts from an avenger,its not even possible to do it.
You can do it when flying! 10 AP + 2 Action Boys + 2 Jet. With "Bonus Rate of Fire" and 2 Jets you can do 3 eye-shots with non-sniper rifle per turn and 3 bursts with miniguns with 1 Jet.

To be honest having 12 attacks or more with unarmed would mean that unarmed chars could finally try and take on mutants/bos in TB and have a slight chance of winning. Still need luck and other targets to distract them but currently you plateau at floaters/centaurs.

If you have mega powerfist u make 20-40 dmg + 15 (10str melee damage + heavy handed + 3xbonus damage hth) +5 vs living creatures (anatomy) x 12
25x12=300 and 60x12=720
So in round u can deal 300-720dmg if theres no missed hits. Am i right?
But anyway u have to get close to your enemy first. With sneak 300% u can get only 3 hexes from enemy. That suck.

Don't forget about DR. Critters have not bad DR vs all types of damage. But, I think Wiki isn't right. Because if watch Radscorpion's defence, you see:

Defense    Resistance    Threshold
Normal    10%            4
Laser            10%            4
Fire            10%            4
Plasma    10%            4
Explosive    10%            4
Electrical    10%            4
EMP            10%            4

But, I noticed, that normal type weapons deal MUCH more damage, than laser and fire. You'll deal min. damage with laser pistol, even magneto-laser pistol. That's really small energy cell wasting, I think you'll kill them faster with 10mm pistol. Also these damned radscorpions do not die so fast by flamer, I really hate them, if not playing by small gunner. "Electrical" type damage (power fist and cattle prod) is most uncommon type, and only Tesla Armor have great resistance vs this type of armor. But critters MUST (may be...) have the same resistances vs all types. Anyway you'll get 12 strikes, so Treshold will apply on every strike, so it much less damage. ;p

Mostly because we don't have time to sit and type it out and give our reasons and then respond to the endless questions. We will get it finished, wipe and then everyone can see whats changed.

It's a little lolzy, how much emphasis is put on brof.  Without it, I didn't seem to see any lessening of the killing that BG does...

because it does more for sg users.

What is the difference between Perk and Trait. Perk gives you advantage, trait gives you advantage and disadvantage. Fast shot trait gives only advantage to BG build. So it is perk for them. I hope that devs will change this trait and the effect will be only on the guns which can use aim mode of fire.

It helps everyone and that's how it should stay, sg can burst too you know.

But "Fast Shot" trait can affect only single shots. So if pistol need 4 AP for single and 5 AP for burst, with this trait it'll be 3 AP for single and again 5 AP for burst. So "Bonus Rate of Fire"+"Fast Shot" on 15th level won't make 5 AP miniguns bursts. The only Big gun which will be affected by "Fast Shot" is Rocketlauncher.
Also developers can add Bozar to big guns, but it'll make single shot for 7 AP (9 AP eye-shot), so it'll be heavy sniper rifle. So, again, some Big Guns users can play without this trait.



Can't aim a rocket launcher either.
Yea, I know, but it's the only single shoting BG.

I dont really understand this thread at all.When did you guys start playing here?Fast shot and BROF always worked together until the last wipe when something went wrong.It wasn't the end of the world and it didnt create this huge gap between players.Someone with a minigun is going to be able to kill you now even without the perk but with it alot of other players will have a better chance.I preffer small guns and really love being able to burst as many times as possible with my smg.

thats because even when I was "testing" 2238, it was dominated by people who just want to shot each other and want to be best at it. Such people were creating powerbuilds + repair alts + other kind of alts. They chose a way of being a Bigguner who can do 3 burst and a reload per turn on drugs(or 2 bursts without drugs). They want balance? Bullshit. Game is dominated by people who want POWER and be "PWNZORZ"... But the main problem with this is that developers usually listen mostly to their suggestions, identifying them as "the most loyal members".

There is a huge gap between old players and new players. New players usually come here to leave soon because of server being overdominated by organized groups. And that's how you get a closed community in a game not orientated to gain new people(if not players and their survival guide, I doubt 2238 would have half of the current new players... These who survive and not quit... Gonna make "friends" which means "join a gang(usually trying for the big ones)" and after that... they see what the game is and they become powerhungry with their newly created powerbuilds, just like their new "protection friends"


Been there. Done that. Looking forward ANY changes.

PS. Imagine how many SmallGunners will reroll a BIGGunner when they introduce helmets(I'm guessing they will partially protect from head/eye crits). It will be a strange post-apocalyptic world filled with tough guys with firepower of a tank, sprinting around with their massive gear. :\

I do not agree with that. Traits are made for roleplaying, yes they give advantage and disadvantage, but in specific playing style they can be turned into advantage only perks, so  instead of crying you should try to find traits giving advantage only for you.
