Calm down there, buddy.
Question...s...:How would you see the challenge? Doing some sort of quest? Just explore it on world map? Generate random dungeon via NPC?
Answer: Could be faction-driven quests, npcs given your the locations, secret unique maps, random generating is completly out of question, it's way to hard to make a random dungeon out of a code, at least the way I think, you could even get inside a cave and when you get on the exit grid of the other side, you can move yourself on one of the islands of the game with a dungeon there.
Q.How would you enter the challenge? Travelling there and having entrance map? Jumping there directly from world map? Having NPC escort you there (AKA teleport)
A. Like I said before, you could get these specific locations on your map by doing talking, or getting quests or maps, locations could be only one timer on your world map in a random square. NPC scorting is way too 1990s. You could gather a team and use the leader to get inside the dungeon, or wait on the closest city.
Q.How much privacy would you get in there? Having one map for everyone? Having random maps with possibility of encounters? Having complete private maps? Having private interiors with shared exteriors?
A. Well.. that's hard to answer, it all depends! You totally should be alone inside the dungeon, only your team, the map will be the same to all the teams, but will be a private session for each. Could be like the vault 15, you gather your team in the exterior and go inside, but to find yourselves in a private map, you don't want a douche to ruin the entire experience.
Q.What would you do in there?
A. Walk, fight, puzzlesolve, finish the dungeon, get faction points if it was quest driven, explore, be happy, or even get married, I don't know!, try to read my first post to get the idea.
Q.Would you just shoot up things? Would you be forced to bring various alts to do things? Would it be possible to do challenge with your average crafters?
A. In my thoughts, I tried to balance the dungeon with the obscure skills of the game, if everbody make a combat character and go on, fine, you can go with that, but mostly you'll fight your way in, if you have a diverse team with multiple skills, you could get inside other areas or safe paths.
Q. How mandatory would the challenge be? Will it be the only way to get things like combat armors?
A. You could have multiple level dungeons, dungeons for people who don't have anything to do in the game, things like, you gather 10 peoples level 21 and go inside. Or smaller groups, like dungeons for people that are level 8 and want to risk themselves into the place; You could get various stuff depending on your level, for the high level characters I don't have a clue, since they have almost everything, but for low levels you could really have a reward that would help you.
Q. Will it just allow you to focus from PvP challenge on PvE challenge? Would it grant you extra stuff at extra risk?
A. Focus on PvP or PvE? What you mean? I though into a PvE extra fun there, you could even get dungeons that players can encounter themselves, like different teams, but that is just complicating what is already complicated.
The extra stuff would be nice for an extra risk, like my first post said, you could get inside extra places if you explore, you can find extra enemies but you'll also find extra loot, just avoid doing the cheap death.
Q. How often you could do the challenge?
A. Depends of the loot, difficulty and feedback of the players
Q. WoW style lockouts?
A. I never played WoW, sorry.
Q. Shared map with respawn times?
A. It depends on the difficulty, I would kick the player off the dungeon if he dies and put him on the next respaw on the world map, that's why teamwork is important, but that's because I'm too cruel, you could make a respaw close to the dungeon so he can met up with his team, but only if he was on the party before.
You could get most of this answers by yourself, in your head, I think you just wanted my oppinion on the subject, so there, you can have it.
But if something will include this, I think he won't have the same oppinions and ideas... but, there you go.
