Alright, so did anyone try this out?  Our leader went looking for both farmers and homesteaders, with open companion slots.  Homesteaders have a dialog box, but it's just to trade.  Farmers do not.  It says "some" of them, but I don't know which ones.  Does anyone know how this works?  Or what they actually do?

Me neither man, it would be nice to know. But otherway, the homesteaders always attack me and i dont remember have shot them before.

This stuff is pretty cool i tried it with homestanders
First you must find homestanders now talk with every homestander there should be one and talk about debt
You must pay him 5k and he will say that he come to your base
In base you meet him and he will offer to do something for you
he can give you
fruits,fibers,radscorpions tail,gecko and golden gecko pelts, wood
but you can take only one thing in a day (dunno if in game day or real day)
And if you again meet homestanders they will not offer you dialogue about farming for you
Now im trying farmers...

That's really how it works?  You have to carry 5k caps on you?

Its simple
Take your leader, give him armor and find encounters near redding or
take your PvP(PvE) character and find encounter and give radio signal to another player that will come with leader and 5k
Farmer can give you 22 fibers, 20 fruits, 5 scorpion tails ,wood,and geckoes pelts
but if u want scorpion tailes you must give him sharpened spear
for normal gecko pelts he want 2 hunting rifles and 10 223
and for golden gecko pelts he want 2 assault rifles and 30 5mm

yeah but when faction have 20 members they can take 400fruits and wait for a while and they can have another 400
its useful for big faction or relog players

you find out how to do farmers?  I got a homesteader.  Can you talk to farmers now?

You need to prepare 5k caps, take char being a leader of faction, then find Homestaders and talk with all of them. One is talking about debt he needs to pay off, after giving him caps he disappears from location and spawns in your base.
You need to give him some guns and bullets in exchange for goods like wood, pelts and so on. You can do it only once per day, dunno yet a real life day or game day.
Every gang member can ask him.

Homestaders are around Redding, mostly.

Its in-game day.  So far, it seems i can't get more than one.  The farmers around klamath don't have a dialog option,  either.

I suppose that you need to find a "special" farmers encounter. Because usually they just start a fight with You. So it must be an enco where the farmers are neutral and have dialogue option.
