What is tactical on situation, where you have 10 players in TB fight, and you are impossible to even shoot once because you die before your turn. Ehm.
Unlike Real Time, TB mode often allows you to shoot (at lease once) before you die.

For fighting, I prefer RT. In that I mean, the best fights happen in RT because of the mechanics. But, it does not work out to have good fights very often, because of the exact same mechanics being easily manipulated to suit one party.

I enjoy TB fights but the system is slow-paced and sluggish at times with many bugs that can cost both victim or killer an unnecessary death.

Turn based all the way.  Again, Fallout was created as a pen n paper rpg not a friggin Call Of Duty wannabee.

Real time combat is all about the twitch reflexes and aimbots.  Dont got one or the other, your SOL.

Great way to cater to a single crowd.

Real time of course, if only it had been available back in the days in Fallout 1 and 2...

Turn based is too much waiting.

You think that's bad, try playing tactics campaign in TB the whole way. Waiting for 50 mutants to do something each time you crawl your 8 hexes is brutal.

TB is so boring if more than 3 entities fight... I hate to use it, when I meet someone in TB when I need to get somewhere fast, my blood starts to boil...
It is only good when I am utterly not sober.

RT isn't well balanced IMHO - main con is that generally people stand still when shooting, but it's better then TB.

If they didn't have the option to choose which combat style and TB was manditory, I probably wouldn't play. That's cool if some people like TB combat but RT is where it's at for any fight with more than 3 people. So bro, I agree with you! Let's be honest, I hate waiting and there is NOTHING exciting about waiting. Whoever said that TB combat is more exciting has probably never played an FPS, TPS, RTS, or never watched an action movie before in their lives. For those of you that say that FOnline is becoming like an FPS (like CoD), I'd say that you are wrong. FPS is FIRST PERSON SHOOTER. Fonline runs exactly like a turn-based/real time strategy hybrid, not an FPS. Sure you don't get to micro manage many units on your own, but that's where the multiplayer/merc aspect comes into play. Great game!!!! Real time combat all the way!

You're right, it needs some major tweaking. Perhaps players should be able to regain AP at half the original level if they walk. It regens at full level if standing still and doesn't regen at all if running. Alas, this game is still in beta so, we still have time to help the devs iron this shit out.

TB is fallout. Fallout is TB.
All this duckling-pixel hunt is total shit. And F interface is simple not for RT. I hate this fucking speed clicking.
Diablo is RT for example. Feel the difference in char control. Seems I'll never gonna learn RT fight as it is now.
And Rt simple dont fit fallout roleplay system. AP for example. Now you dont regenerate when you run or walk. But! Running does not affects anything - your chance to hit for example or AP needed for next shot. Just imagine you run, then you need to stop and take a breath for next AIMED shot. So +1 AP for example Something like that. Oh shit, im wrong. Runnig affects your opponent CHANCE TO CLICK YOU to death. Awful. In RPG.
So you need to keep SHIFT PRESSED or double click like crazy. Sht! And we dont have autorun (
If anybody played UFO After* series, thats a good example how guys managed to move from XCOM TB to UFO RT (i know that was other guys, but...) - again we got TACTICAL PAUSE in this game.

RT is evil , but needed evil yet. Hate RT .

I wonder if it possible to go for new TB system when all players make move queues (30 sec for that) and watch all action done at the same time.
So if each turn 30 sec but EVERYBODY made some actions the same time - would be awesome. If this will ever become true - then RT only when non active combat.
Of cause chars make action after end of round in order regarding sequence stat. that will ,make sequence   valuable. Yes you need to guess your opponent actions, will he attack or retreat.
And ATTACK GROUND command for grenades and launchers , and AP reservation for "guard position mode" ( i mean auto retaliate when enemy shown off the wall) - or once again sequence dependent
Ehh, dreams dreams.
To prevent situation 1 asshole forgot to press END COMBAT button in ncr - lets say if char do not make aggression actions for 5 turn then switch him to end combat mode.
And if not fight, combat will end up in 30x5 = 150 secs
But i understand it requires A LOT of programming work and etc.

But again come on - FONLINE is my dream of cooperative fallout game play and actually a lot of fun to make tactical moves in TB with your friends and against your enemies.
Thats why i need TB or RT with tactical pause. Because its not a fucking Quake 3. Im not that slow ) I can play shooters and kick some asses. But im not interested. After all theres F3 for Rt shooting

I think most people agree, neither RT or TB are very fitting. RT doesn't feel right, but TB is just downright terrible. What I think (most) people would enjoy is a hybridized system in which there are turns but it happens much smoother and without the long dramatic pauses we have now. TB in online play feels like an extremely slow game of chess, without much strategy currently. there needs to be a way to combine actions within the TB timeframe to allow interaction of the player during times which would normally be waiting.

Here's an idea, running characters are harder to hit! Hitting a character while he is running makes him 60% harder to hit or something like that xD

Living in new zealand using a mobile usb modem my ping varies between 400 and as high as 900, in RT my character will be unable to shoot or move after being hit once.

So TB all the way! It's more like fallout anyway! How about the new civilization simultaneous turn system? I heard that was cool.

Aint gonna work because running has now downside. Our chars never get tired or winded.
