Why would anyone do that kind of shit ? I really dont get it, it´s so lame to steal someone´s nickname and I doubt, it´s coincidence. Seriously, people should be punished for such a behaviour, it has nothing to do with the "wasteland is harsh" feel.

It does, but the level of immaturity (stealing other peoples nicknames) increased with the last wipe.
And, just to make it clear since people already complained about it: If people ask me (or other GMs) to ban their stolen characters we won't do that normally. Not because we don't like you or ignore you, but because it's tedious work and we can't be sure 100% that the player who says "Guy XY stole my charname ABC" is speaking the truth. We don't know every single player on the server by its most famous nickname.

I don't understand this.  These nicknames aren't stolen.  There was a wipe.  Everything starts over.  You can name your guy anything you want.  Once there's a wipe, everything is up for grabs, including nicknames and even gang names.  If the name you want to use is taken, come up with another one.  Or use a capital I instead of a lowercase L or something.

Gang names : Some names here are custom(like gift or something) so if someone will stole it then its bad and its stolen.
Player names : If somebody have some nick for long time and some idio* or trol* stole it then its bad.

Its simple, some people or gangs are really famous in the game, so if someone pick their nicks, its some kind of identity theft, especially when some PK stole nick of antiPK or trader and ruined their reputation, because many people wont know, that its not former user of this nick...
I am pretty happy, that no one got the idea to stole my nick-name...

It's not cool if someone draws his blacklist and starts making dozens of alts with their nicks.
Or use fake identities to infiltrate and kill "teammembers", like in case of Warhead was.
