Author Topic: Introduce minimum and maximum time you need to walk on WM for encounter  (Read 2352 times)


So the big problem is where you encounter players in Turn Based, some caravan and some mobs. After 5 minutes you can finally leave the encounter. But after you walk 2 pixels further, you get the same encounter. It can happen 10 times in a row -.- Not really enterainming.
The solution for this problem I'm proposing is introducing minimum time you need to walk on World Map to get an encounter, and also maximum time so very lucky people could walk endlessly if they want to. This would make encounters more regular and let walk this one check before you encounter something again...

Use RT ;p it took around 15 minutes to went from VC to NCR and I got over 50 encounters.

Especially when you encounter someone else who uses TB, oh yes, i will use RT, thanks...
Every 1 pixel you walk, you get the same encounter. Nice.

And what if I don't want to waste point on it? As I know only 180+ skill useful, so you should focus your character on that and be usually charismatic leader/slaver, or else it useless.
So what if my main character isn't leader/slaver?

Ability to having your outdoorsman bigger doesn't change the fact, that encountering the same people 10 times in a row is a bit... weird? AND ANNOYING.

It's a goddamn role playing game. If you want to be a very good fighter you'll have no poins for the outdoorsman skill. That's just how it is. Increase the skill or deal with the fact that you have many encounters.

I'm talking about chaning this skill from something not only 0 and 1. May be if you have middle outdoorsman skill you can't use it properly if you have people on your party, so leader should have alot outdoorsman, but if you're alone, you need alteast like 100-120% to avoid encounters enough, because it's like repair now, raise it on max or don't touch at all, because middle skill will do nothing and will work like minimal.

Edit: or make sneak+outdoorsman check if you're the only one without anyone in party, without mercs, slavesm etc. So these two skills will work together.

Encounters are going to need (a lot of) feedback. Its still very WIP

If there is an issue try and give as much detail and reasoning (preferably with numbers :P) so people can agree/disagree, also in a rational manner. Then decent changes can be done to improve the system.

For me its not a problem to switch but yes it gets annoying to play TBC all the time. Cant support with numbers exam time ^^
