Fonline future?
« on: August 28, 2010, 06:29:25 pm »

Dev's - what vision of fonline do you have?
Can you provide some roadmap for the game - because im affraid that you dont have any:/
If you have why you dont want to show it to whole player community?

Bans because of FOCD - tragic approach, you attepmt to controll players but players arent bad guys - it is the
fonline game itself full of shortcomings..

PS Fonline still is great game;)

About those bans... what sense is in banning beta-testers for ever (oh sorry, 260 years, it isn't so much, I'll pass it in my testament)?

Game Rules.

Quote
- Slowing down the beta process by being clearly not focused on testing properly the game or preventing other people to test it properly.
- Using any kind of unauthorized third-party tool that modifies the game memory and/or data files.

By using the game etc you agree to these rules. If you break them, you get sanctions.

Ooh requests. How daring  :o

But seriously I'd like to know answers for this too. It would honestly help us players to test the game because then we'd know what to report more precisely. When we know what the game is supposed to be like, we can stop expecting how things should be. Because right now there's lots of differend expectations by players and this divides our community. Example - someone complains about getting killed somewhere -> Discussion erupts whether that place should be safe, safer or unsafe. This could all be solved by just stating that dev commentary says this place is supposed to be unsafe.

Oh yes, but in example I can't understand why so long. Let's take dual logging... some people were banned for 2 days, some for month, but hell... 260 YEARS for something like FOCD? Even those who didn't use Yanus?

There is no statement about duration of ban for certain rule break.
It's non sense to ban beta-testers for 260 years.

Stop whining (again) about those bans, it's boring. They were set for breaking the rules, enough said. Leave, die or shut up.
But seriously I'd like to know answers for this too.

I want know also what Devs want to FOnline be :
a) Fallout Sims + Settlers + Quake in
or:
b) FOnline - game which is hard as hell, hard to craft Metal Armors ( I dont even think about BAs or Combat Armors - they shound be craftable - they should be "scavenge" from SAD or Glow) hard to grind ( not only bla bla centaur killing but more quests please) and hard to fight ( -.... Scorpion bite me... and thats why i dont have children...)

And why are the developers so scarce with comments, btw?
They're not becoming presumtuous, i hope?

Edit: i know, there's lot of work, nobody pays you, lots of ideas are not primary objective... But a bit more comments would be appreciated, why the idea can be implemented, why not. Nobody's gonna draw you in endless discussions, then. And silence can be worser than disapproval.

Ye well it's not about knowing the range of lsw or magnum's cooldown. It's about big picture.

 Dont talk about ban,
it is simple: some developer, that have no time to GMastering, was angry that some 3rh party utility breaks their code. (Instead of implementing this system), he created some detection mechanism adn than he ordered to GM to ban those user. Than he left 2238 community (he has his own life) and GM will not unban banned characters now, because it cost a time of dev to detect them.

But road map would be fine (no road map = no idea about future i think).

Hey, i let myself be surprised with their ideas!  :)
And suggestions are meant to be discussed, otherwise there won't be a whole section devoted to it. And it's called "Suggestions", not "Abandon all hope all ye who enter here"

Ohh, I just can't leave it without response.
How long you think could take writing of such a programme? http://pastebin.com/r3QG6LdK

And oh, is it so hard to make a clear statement how long ban for which rule break? To avoid situation like ban for dual log 2 days from one GM and ban for dual log 999hours from other GM.
