It depends on how much the bank has in reserve - this is to stop exponential cap generation from interest rates. I'm not sure if this reserve is still linked to how many Mercs/Bases/Professions are bought or if it has just become a finite store at the start of the session which gets used up.

With so many caps in banks now, I would guess interest is either close to 0% or 0%

We neeed moar banks !!!!

Seriously, there's something wrong with this system, people prefer to store their caps in their tent/base. Too bad, it s an interesting feature.

Or we need less caps so the interest given isn't maxed out so quickly  ;)

Then make things bought with caps buyable with goods. Its a ridiculous concept anyways, currency only holds value if it's backed by the country and the wastes don't have an organized, unified gov't. It should be mad max style barter town.

the price is about 9 caps per round, so 111 rounds is about 1 k

Why didn't they just do this in fallout 1?! how can the currency system change from bottle caps to actual coins in like what 35 years?  I guess they found a shit load of coins during that time...

Anyhow tho, I really wish interest does work... I swear i've seen it work... I used to have like 5500 caps in NCR Bank came back like ... 2-3-4 weeks later and had 6200 ... eh i mite be crazy tho ... lol  ::)

There are some things which require caps. This requires you to get caps. This is part of the game.
