configure mercs prices :>

yeah i know they are based on economy, you buy merc it increases you dont buy it slowly decreases, but i think there should be some limits, cause for now sometimes you can buy (like me now) ghoul sniper for 4k when sniper rifles base price is 5k itself, so i think merc price shouldnt decrease to amount of weapon price + some basic minimum amount that merc can cost :>

I must agree, the LSW heavy guns merc at some point costed 1k, needless to say i immidiatly bought 3 of them for under 4k caps, went to the shops sold the LSW's and got my self 2 super mutie mercs for a total of 20k. its complete lolz :D

that is damn right. ghouls with sniperrifles not the only problem.

same with lsw mercs. rocketluncher mercs. ECT

simply example:
lsw merc for 5k with lsw who gives 7k at selling
rocketluncher merc for 4k 2rocketlunchers!!!!!! + rockets who gives 8k at selling
sg merc with smg for dunno but he have 2 smgs.. you payed nothing for him if you sell this pair . calc is by 0

that is a reason for a big tread in the bug section i think. omg very high - caps exploit

Merc's should come with no weapons, just the ability to use a certain class of weapon.

he! thats a good idea.. but completly without anything is to hard.

the lower mercs (sg) should be have crap weapons and some more ammo


smg merc (i think second sg merc) have two 0% det. smgs. but just 20 bullets? heh! funny..
better were he have some oldschool dessert eagle 50%det. inclusive 50 bullets?

the higher mercs (sniperghouls, bg mercs) shouldn´t be owned these high weapons

at least because its fucking easy to abuse this.

logic tragedy: buy cheapest merc with good weapon. sell weapon. kill merc for place in group. buy new merc. do that 1000 times and you´ll be rich  .(

that´s why it seems logical to set some basic prices . isnt it?
melle mercs are not the same problem as sniperghouls for example

1. melle mercs in realtime are a pure nightmare. its to easy.
    chilling in the background and look how they knocking down  everything.
    (i talk about rippers and supersledges)

    maybe it would be usefull when chars with higher charisma pay more for mercs?
    i know sounds little bit unlogic but if you have more than 3 mercs
    its just to easy act like some lazy necromancer.
    maybe you understand.

2. selling the basic merc weapons
    (means lsw rocketluncher smg something like that)
    for more caps as the mercs costs to hire. thats the other problem. much more confusing

1. YES - 3CH - base price 5CH - double 7CH tripple 9 quad (second thought: people with lower CH would buy, so it wouldnt help at all)
2. Solution: no weapons, just abilities ;)

Yeah melee mercs are great, unless you run into fire geckos, centaurs, aliens, humans marauder lvl or higher, players who aren't retarded, players with burst weapons, players with grenades etc.

puh. test 4 melle mercs with supersledges in realtime. and why i should let them fight against floathers and shit?

Unarmed supermutants are crap, (also they have 300 hp not 330)

have you see caravans in realtime against 4 supermutants with powerfists? dont seems so.
just sanfran caravan have a little chance because their lsw´s.
(until 5 people in group you have small encounters)

ncr caravans and hub is a joke. seems unbalanced. dont mean it personal. same with redding new reno vault city.
you are able to travel all over and just pick up shiny stuff from ground.
 - necromancer style diablo

i dont wonna talk about pvp. its works good. to good.

point is the freaky price for mercs and their weapons.

I had 5 metal white guy mercs with super sledge and yes they are great for farming but ncr patrols will still kill 2 of them before they are finished. As for 10k sledges alone are 3k each and each merc is around 4k so I guess you're making these sledges. Even with the amount you can farm, you can farm way more with jet and a lsw, not that it matters as the vendors never have enough caps so you just end up stockpiling crap in a tent. Also if you think they are good for pvp clearly you don't do any, 2 lsw bursts and you'll have like 1 left.

simply trade the loot into items who have similar prices at most places (stupid example is small energy cells *sigh*)
and travel to all places where is cash. necro sanfran gunrunners newreno.

Edit: i dont talk about pvp. i talk about prices for mercs and to armed mercs.
and a little bit about the massive (unbalanced?) loot with them.

It's not unbalanced that high level chars can own some shit, you can nerf the game into oblivion someone will still find a way. It's vendor cap availability that bottlenecks making money, not how much loot you can collect. Plus you find a way to make the 500k caps you need for a vault if you make it harder to make caps.

I think there should be a fundamental rework in the way that mercs are reworked. Mercs are not slaves, and should not be treated like slaves.

When you hire a merc, they (the mercs) are generally under the assumption its not until they die, it is until the mission is accomplished. If you want some one who does whatever you want, whenever. They expect a cut of the action if they're taking a cut of a risk.

Mercs don't carry your bags for you; if you barter with them, then you barter with them.
