Slave Extra Features
« on: April 28, 2010, 10:07:01 am »

heres some things that arent essental, just some features that would be Fun to have, almost none of it is combat wise so shouldent get in the way of things.

1. the Option to change the Slaves names, Mercs have Names that come with them, i think if we examine a slave, it would be better to Have a name to them rather then just having the generic "You see a Slave."  i'd Prefure to see my Slave with "you see Rose" when i look at my adopted daughter.

2. Dialoge change for people who arent there owners, instead of seeing a lil girl say "we're watching you" (lil creepy) to something we enter in the say menu, diffrent cattagorys to things, like when they go into battle, some of them talk like Sulik, kina funny, but still not to the character.

3. The Choice on how to treat the Slave when we talk to them in Dialoge, Default would be how we already talk to them, Friendly Mode makes you treat them as a friend, Merc Mode, were you talk to them like they were Mercs, Family Member, and maybe other options too, also a way to change what they call you, instead of just Master, None of this should change the other options such as "i would like to change your master" options, though maybe label them to what Personality you chose.

i'm guessing Role Players would find this interesting, or people who would like to Catigorize there Slaves

Number 3 is good, but 1&2 I doubt we'll see this. ;)
I'm all for customization, but not when we'll see then Slaves with the name "MC Dickhead" or so ingame.  :-\

I agree with Surf Solar about names. Gieving players an option to name their slaves/merc is like gieving a monkey loaded machine gun - bad idea. There was once idea about gieving players option to write something on their guns - but again noone want to see "lololol I pwn u" etc. (ps. thanks gods..devs...that players cant choose faction name).

Then make a names list. Like gangs. That would be better. And no option to change it after naming.

Yeah i like the idea too, but like solar said, it could be bad to see the ''imagination'' of most of the player's who can call there slave's like dick hole or bitch biatch suck alot... haha anyway it have some good base to upgrade it as rp too

Ehm why are you so afraid to give people some free choice? It will have to happen sooner or later tho. And these are the little details that tell you something about people you are dealing with. Now its one clone here, one clone there and personal customization almost does not exists.

Slave is a slave. No need for own names, as it's a slave. Who fucking cares 'bout slaves.

Yeah, Lexx is right. Slaves should be meat.

There should be 'Friend' companions separate from mercs and slaves, and it'd be nice to have stronger dog companions you can name. But players getting friendly with their slaves is not something I support.

Slave is a slave. No need for own names, as it's a slave. Who fucking cares 'bout slaves.

I Do, some people find comfert in NPC buddys, my first merc i felt pretty close to, he'd watch my back werever we went, till the Raiders got him, he was the longest liveing NPC follower i had, and a friend of mine grew to like him too, sure hes not a Slave, but he was a NPC that came with a Name, which made me feel more confident for some reason, Knowing your followers just that one lil bit might effect on how they make it out of battle alive, instead of just being like "ah well, lost another slave, i'll just get another one" versed with " NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Eddie!!!.... g*d m*her f**king raiders! i'll rip your F**king...." you get the picture,
besides, even if you give 2 flying rats ass's about them, use You're Imagination, there are others who do give a damn about there Named followers, theres alot of ways you could use it against them if you think about it  :-X
