Try to roleplay sometimes! This is not single-player RPG where you always run! Also this isn't a problem to hold "Shift" button, because I don't like to kill my mouse by double clicking.

Requires the engine modification - AFAIK Cvet is the only person that can do it and he speaks only russian  ;).

shift doesnt help if you are melee and want to run to target you are targeting.

damn, i don't see the problem... I always run (i have a double click button on my mouse :P) rember the only thing left from FO2 is graphics, sounds and some mechanics- engine was made by Cvet, so there is no Falout "always run"

Game mechanics could be kept exactly as they are.  I'm just tired of holding down the shift key while I'm playing.

put some weight on it or invent some other thing to keep it pressed (you can easily do it with matches)

In unarmed/melee attacks chars should run to their targets.

Apart from that, no. No 'always run'

EDIT: To compensate for that, walking speed could be increased by ~20%

Unarmed: +AC(active sneak should boost AC as they are "less visible")
