Mining in random encounters
« on: May 16, 2013, 07:14:40 am »

The idea of this is simple it will be just like any random encounter, but it will be more rare such as  1 out of every 5 random encounters will contain a mine-able rocks but they will a luckier chance such as you'll find minerals and iron much more likely then you'll find a Uranium

Just an idea feedback appreciated.

It was this like in previous sessions. Bots were standing in encounters and hammered rocks day and night, because there was a cooldown of 6 minutes after you got some ore.

This could work out this session, though, because of predators and limited ressources in encounters. Would be a nice alternative to mines.

Yes, mines are just, places that you go with your brahmin and take out all the ore, imho it's stupid.

Encounters are just safe grindy places where a chance to meet another player is close to 0.
Don't like it. I don't like farming in encounters at all. I think we should move as much of it as
possible to public locations (for fast farming) and to bases (for investments that you pay for
that give you slow return over time).

On the other hand we should give multiple options to players for them to enjoy different ways of doing stuff.
I also think your argument about player interaction in mines is invalid. Even today it's rare. When two players meet in a mine(we're talking about the safe ones -  with low quality resources) they often ignore eachother, get what they came for and leave. That's it, that's why the suggestion is good.

Make mining possible only in certain areas of the WM (mountains).

Suddenly the chance to meet others rises!

I meant stuff like aquiring fibres or mining, not PvE. Does anyone like collecting junk?
I prefer to go to a public location where things spawn all the time, not re-enter encounters
and run to grid over and over...

But junk barrels being camped by bots was bad, though.

Encounters arent safe anymore because of predators, but as Floodnik said, its about alternatives, eg, Junk being mineable from walls of Junktown. Or one or another piece in encounter, so a player can say, "screw the grind, im going to the unguarded mine"

Lexx, removing TB would scare off PvEers.

I hate when i`m forced to battle in RT. I know its faster, more skill intensive etc etc.
I just enjoy playing in tb more than in rt.

have you even played early obt? in certain areas where findind rocks near ncr chance was great, like 80% encounters were player encounters and you talking bullshit like this. Damn, just damn. As developing like that continues i have less and less to say.

If wipe happens theoretically, and TB woul have been removed, noone would play, because noone wants to grid stuff again, for sure not trying to PVE stuff like Enclave or BoS patrol.
