moning mining options....
« on: March 05, 2013, 05:12:14 am »

ok, so mining is cool enough, but......
super sledges are hard to get, harder still to craft, primative tools dont last long at all, havetn tried a hatchey yet, but i can't use a shovel or regulr sledge hammer.
huh? i cant use a SHOVEL to dig in a min? who missed that?

Ummm... You use regular sledge hammers. Perhaps your problem is you have to shift through four attack options before you reach the "use" option. And a shovel IRL would snap in two before you chipped off even a sliver.

Id like to see the "use" button on things like the hatchet and knives.
As far as i know supersledges have no "use" button.

Come on Devs, you need a sound guy.

Such sounds i can think of are : Mining, Fibre cuting, more ambient sounds, like wind, Chatter of voices for towns. Dogs barking. Sound effect for when item is created in fixboy. These things will add so much atmosphere to the game. Atmosphere is whats missing, Atmosphere keeps you playing.

Id like to see "throw" option for Hatchet as well as the lumberjack animation.

What about this?
ya thats pretty much exactly what I meant. In fact that makes more sense entirely.

As for shovels, jhammers break rocks but they dont lift them. Shovels do that.

Mining with Super Sledge has been suggested more than once already, and some of the suggestion had some, uh, "interesting" twists.

Maybe additional ore with each hit with Super sledge?
3 maybe 4 ore/minerals per hit.

Mostly I want a tool that won't break after the first use.
But shovels are the most realistic tool for digging, and mining means digging.

iron ore/minerals is more like rock than soil, and i believe you would broke your shovel as soon as primitive tool. Only realistic not powered tool is pickaxe which was replaced with only similar sledgehammer.
