password not being accepted
« on: February 12, 2013, 09:04:50 pm »

my password isnt working. i have tried to create a new character with my characters same name, and it says its taken, so i know my character didnt get deleted. i know i didnt forget my password, because its the one i have used for all my characters, in all games. i never told anyone my password either. character name is PILGORE, same as my forum one.

Press "CTRL" when you're at the login screen, then the password will show up. So you can check if you wrote it correct or not.

Yeah, probably someone stole it. I'd suggest you to change password of your charters, if it's the same for them all.
For get a new the password you have to write in game: ~changepassword "CURRENT" "NEW" then press ENTER and re-log with the new password.

When did you create the Pilgore character? There was server wipe year ago, so it would be possible someone recteated char with same name.

Perhaps when you created your char you spelt the password incorrectly, and you never noticed since you didn't needed to retype it. You then may have accidently added/removed a character from it when logging in causing it to say it being incorrect.
You then retyped it 'correctly' but seeing your password was wrong in the first place, your unable to login.

Or it could have just been stolen...

p.s
I think passwords are case-sensitive if that helps.

Unfortunately, ingame characters aren't tied to forum account and it's hard to prove that the character would be stolen. All we can do is to recommend using strong password.
