1) You would have to prove you had this char this seesion.
2) You would have to prove you didn't give access to character to someone else (which is impossible to do because it would be just word of new owner against yours).
3) Characters are stored in non-plain-text files I am not sure if they really are encrypted or it's just some binary format, but it's not plain-text format anymore so even if you would be able to prove points 1 and 2 only thing that could be done without convincing new owner to voluntarily give it back is deleting the character entirely. (The character files are [to my knowledge] handled via engine, and engine devs have better things to do than to add backdoors into the system incase someone would forget their password.)

This issue has already been addressed, they can't help you.
Others have had the same problem and the solution is to deal with it.

First, when was the last time you actually played on said character?  If it had been a few weeks the tent you were storing everything in would be gone regardless.  Second, whining and calling the devs incompetent is silly when you are not intelligent enough to realize you should not use the same name and password on everything.  If I had personally known you from another game and was told you played this I would have logged into your account and changed the password too just to teach you not to use the same password and name (you raging would just be some more icing on the cake)
Finally, you calling the game half assed is just sad when I see no comments from you on this forum besides this thread, you want a game to not be "half assed" maybe you should have participated in the discussion to make it better.  I wish you well on your hacking attempts but I am dubious as to the success of your chances (due to your apparent computer inexperience)
