Custom Dog Tags
« on: November 24, 2012, 09:09:45 pm »

Pretty straightforward. Allow players to craft custom dog-tags.

Its nothing amazing or game changing I know but it would be a fun little RP item or just something to wear around so that if someone stumbles across your body they know who you were as they were intended to be used.
To create them I'd recommend making an NPC in town or perhaps a talking dog-tag printer/computer in Sierra or Mariposa that when supplied with metal parts will ask the player for a name. Us the "Say" function and print your name and a second later you got yourself a custom dogtag with your name. As for the D.O.B or Date of Birth you can ether fill that out or it can be randomized.
It shouldn't be that hard to implement and its not ground-breaking or amazing but it would be fun for role-play or for identification or just to wear around town when idling.
Feel Free to Call Bullshit or give suggestions. Try to avoid going "totally fail u noob learn2play totally gayz"

I think it was suggested already, it was supposed to appear in your inventory when you die.

Didn't show up in my forum search. Maybe I worded it incorrectly...

That will most likely never happen.

I support this suggestion.
If it cannot be implemented then at least do as I suggested:
ability to erase and print new names on existing dog tags

About this suggestion:
Perhaps we should receive dog tags in after joining encalve or BoS (maybe add ability to join ncr army)and be able to get about 20 new ones.

+1

Make it craftable from junk or metal parts (3x DogTags for 1x J/MP) at workbench.

Recipe obtainable from Blueprint. Blueprint obtainable from T-Ray for caps or something like that.

No need for entering custom names. Just print a name of the character that created it on the dogtag.

That was the original idea, but since people working on npc factions moved to other tasks...

...dogtags will be most likely given as starter item, it just have to wait for wipe.

Make it craftable...
Maybe when fixboy is finished.

:( like that idea obtianing them after joining BoS or Enclave... anyway, reading your posts Wipe gives me little childish hapiness, cause I like you are willing to fix things for players. Thank you in further! I support the idea of dog tags, cradting and naming them at some NPC.
