Some things about mercs and slaves don't make sense!
« on: August 24, 2012, 05:35:00 am »

First:

Price for bg mercs and humans is a bit stupid.

- A mutant merc at the least costs 7k, it has 400 HP, high defences (around CAmk2), higher ap, and even high crit chance.

- A human merc at the least costs 7k as well, it has 150 HP, only a crappy leather jacket, lower ap, and lower crit chance.

1. Lower the least cost for human BG mercs. (Around 3k, I would say.)
or
2. Boosting the price for BG mutants. (Around 10k.)

Second:

- 5-10%+ influence per jet on each slave is quite a waste, I suggest boosting it to 20-40%.

Third:

Why does mercs' inventory have to be like a trader's? You can just steal their weapons from them on a thief, but still, it's just more work and the previous system for them was way better.

Whaah! Whaah! I can't spawn in the middle of TC with a lvl 1 loaded with BG muties!

Make PVP alts like normal people, problem solved.

Sure we're not.

Normalizing prices and inventory management are not pvp mechanics last I checked

Mercenaries are not supposed to be mules, end of story. Get some dogs/cows and stash as how much you want, whatever you want.

The only thing that doesn't make sense is that mercenaries can't be looted on normal circumstances (trading weapons for them should be allowed), they are expensive enough(loyalty is very expensive), loosing their weapons is a bit over the top and i don't understand why their armors do appear in inventory when you do check their body upon killing them with some friend or dual log.

1. Lower the least cost for human BG mercs. (Around 3k, I would say.)
or
2. Boosting the price for BG mutants. (Around 10k.)

3k? We will have a picture of what was going on previous session, more like 6k for normal and 10k for mutants.

Any way goes...because both at the same price while mutant is a lot more powerful just doesn't make sense in my world.

Yeah, I can just plant items on mercs through thieves and what not. (If I really wanted to.) It's just a waste of time and should be normal again. Especially the part where I want them to use a different weapon, this shouldn't be necessary at all!

Good thing we have t888 to swoop in and misunderstand the thread. Have you ever used mercs? Needing to give them one cap along with their gear just to get them equipped is ridiculous and inventory space is part of what you pay for. Not everyone uses mercs for pvp.

First of all learn to read and comprehend so i don't repeat my thought and explain something to you at all if you have problems with basic comprehension, did you forgot the part of me saying that it should be possible to trade weapons, mercenaries are not mules, that won't change because you liked to store items on them. I never said giving 1 cap to give items make sense or that it should stay like that, the point is they aren't mules, deal with it.

inventory space is part of what you pay for

Companions will share your inventory space and they are for free, mercenaries are just guys you pay to fight.

Human mercs cost the same because they can run and use more variety of weapons. Have you tried to buy human mercs with mercleader build? They should have over 200 hp.

No further opinion about mercs, they don't bring much to gameplay anyway.

Yes, i'm aware of that, I have knew that the whole time, and your mutants will also start with more hp than usual with the correct builds.

They're also extremely useless because of gatling lasers while mutants have 50% or so laser resistance.
