Does luck matter?
« on: February 09, 2012, 08:27:20 pm »

So I'm trying to make a build for a lock picker and I thought that having a high Luck might help me find encounters with lockers in them more often but I'm not sure if that is true. Right now it seems like the only thing that luck has any bearing on at all is Gambling and critical chance. So would there really be a point in having a luck of let's say, 10?

Actually it depends who finds the enc

If you gonna open locker found only by chars of 10LK then your luck is not much of an issue... But if you gonna do it on your own... 10LK is a must!

Equipment in footlockers might as well be generated when opening them up. There's no hard evidence of that , the same thing goes for luck. Some of us from SOT have farmed those BP .... you have just no idea how much , we haven't seen any difference with 1 or more luck , maybe there is a very small one but in that case impossible to notice. It would be very nice if some developer confirmed something of this as either true or false.

How's arrogance to claim you have farmed something? It's good to have the insight of somebody who can farm this.
I apreciate it since I'm a noob who can't farm anything yet.

Dear Manjius. Its not the farming ;) as you will become more aware about people at Fonline youll soon find out that the only feeling you can develop to SoT is hate-trust me and 90% of players that think the same ;) as for the buying farmed blueprints (since its the only valuable thing apart from caps) you can buy it from others at half the cost ;) and making a farmer alt is a matter of few hours ;)

lol T888 just got insulted in wrong way about a true fact  :P:-X:D;D
Anyway he (or she?) just clicked in the same city spot with his 300% lockpicker alt during HOURS just to get some random (many useless many repeated) Blue Prints.
NOW, HOW IN THE NAME OF GOD, DO YOU CALL THIS SYSTEM?
i dont recommend to do that, just farm in vs encounters or create 280HP PvE alts to fight NCR, Hubs or Ciscos in TB in 40min fights  :P

Yeah I don't know about luck, but have to agree with Rein, making a specific alt to spend hours in one spot really doesn't sound like fun or a good way to do a game.  Luck at this point isn't even needed in combat much anymore either, I've noticed that you can get more crit with a lower luck than before also.

If they kept the SDK lockpick system, luck doesn't matter. I doubt there is a difference in what you get in lockers either.

Yes there is; Me and my buddies found out that contents are spawned when the encounter is generated

Not entirely sure in what way LK affects it (didn't bother to look with 1LK alt)

10 luck on my chars all the time if I ever can manage it...

Not even sure why, really, I have no actual evidence to support it other than instinct, and hope, I suppose. Ah, and I choose to err on the side of caution on this.  The char is a lockpicker, so I think I wanted to give him every chance possible to help him in his exploration(treasure hunter support perk, lockpicking, outdoors, etc).

Luck doesn't affect. My lockpicker has 1 luck, I've found 2 blueprints within a hour and also random 1 cap and 1 ammo (which is normal with treasure hunter)
Edit: also I'm able to open 90% of footlockers with 177% lockpick
