HEy guys,

Im aboot to start right now and wanted to ask you what would be a good choice for a knife fighting or melee character iin general. what profession is good? should i go slaver? lol kthxbai

Most likely Melee characters are tanks or combination with some weapon user builds like SG/EW.
If you want good build then forget about slaver and wasting points to CH.

Small guns / Energy weapons. Thou I disagree, had 2-3 melee builds, none of them used more ranged weapons than it was needed to stop people from leaving by grid, or not at all.

http://fodev.net/forum/index.php?topic=1876.msg15094#msg15094 - that's a useful thread to read for making melee chars. You won't be effective in group pvp, but it's good for first chars, since you don't need to care about guns and ammo and all that crap. Make him armorer for complete self-sustenance.

for melee 170% skill is enought to hit in eye any creature (with ripper or etc)
also 10 luck + 3x bonus crit + better crit make u (most of time) kill any npc by 1 hit in eye. ( actually i d like to take finesse +10% to crit, but i didnt )
