Doc skill giving exp
« on: May 18, 2011, 06:32:46 pm »

In my opinion doc skill should give experience, it doesn't have too be much. It should also depends upon the kind of damage that was healed.

For example:

blindness - 300exp
crippled leg - 200exp
crippled arm - 250exp
weakness - 50exp

Numbers can be different. The sole fact that doctor gets experience from doc-ing seems just fair :)

thought about posting that too, healing weakness as example should be a great work for a doctor

Well, if I understood the concept well, Doctor is supposed to be a Skill which requires more "complex" knowledge than First Aid, so why should it not give more XP than First Aid. Maybe not something like 500 xp for every limb healed, but around 200-300... you know, around the max XP you get from First Aid.

Not sure about pc, but healing npc gives you 50 xp per succesful damage healed.
So if you manage to heal 2 crippled arms at once, you get 100 xp.

I agree, the exp rewards should be higher. Changed.

Well, healing weakness of PCs is probably the most common use of doc skill, and it doesn't give any exp, that's for sure.

You heal weakness to give FA.
"Healing" weakness shouldn't give xp, healing crippled limbs and eye damage should.
I fail to see any difference between "healing weakness" and something like crafting gunpowder and metal parts.

Well it's common. But doc is a separate skill atm.

Well i can see differences. One that seems most significant to me is that using doc causes a cooldown (pretty long on low level) while crafting gunpowder or metal parts does not.

For weakness 50xp would be after all you will get more from first aid. About the other damages I think the ones you posted first are ok.

This. Everything else sounds good. I vote YES!

Well setting lower xp gain on weakness seems reasonable to me. Changed.

well all limbs successful healing  with doctor gives you 50 exp.

Some time ago, healing weakness gave the healer 100 exp, but devs found it abusable and removed it, im not saying i agree with it :) While pkers exp from pking, thieves should exp from stealing, doctors from healing :)

Its has nothing to do with the treath, but do you note that in many not frecuented towns there is a high epidemic of NPCs with broken limbs. It was a feature that now is becoming funny, in places like SF train station or Adytum aprox 1/2 of the NPCs have more of 2 crippled limbs :P

It's 50 per limb. So the xp for healing more than 1 limb is the amount of healed limbs times 50 xp.

You get a cooldown to remove a cooldown.
You're not really healing anything when removing weakness. You remove the blockade which prevents the use of FA.
Like crafting gunpowder or metal parts, you're preparing to do something that gives xp.

You get a cooldown to remove a cooldown.

You get a cooldown on docing. That means you cannot either remove injuries or weakness.
When you craft gunpowder or metal parts you don't get *any* cooldown.

Another thing is that there is a quite significant chance of failure on docing. It means that you may get your skill frozen for the next 7 minutes even if you failed to heal. But when you craft gunpowder or metal parts you are sure you will get one.
