Someone discuss with me that i am absolutely out while noone said for what flares will be use ...

They are (obviously) there to produce temporary light. I'll guess if I wouldn't have includet the flares until they got a timelimit, this thread wouldn't be as it is now.

So their purpose after wipe will be temporary light ?( of course as it is in REAL LIFE)   Ok then, i didnt know that their purpose will be so sophisticated ...

When the engine can handle light effects, flares will have a real use. There are two obvious ways I'm sure everyone can imagine.

It's not a "nerf" it's how it was meaned to be from the very beginning.
Yes, but "My arguements for now":

1.  They have no practical use, so why put duration on them?

2.  They have cool lighting, so duration would just ruin this.

3.  It is a nerf because it sucks the only bit of semi-practicality from them making the utterly useless like they were before.

Unless you're planning to add a use for them along with the duration? (which doesn't seem to be the case)  Otherwise its just like what you did with big guns vs snipers this era.

I just really don't wanna see them useless again.

I never said either of those things, what are you talking about?  I was just saying i don't see reason to give it duration in its current state.  (Despite the big guns vs sniper simile.)

I used to be a bag of dicks, but then I grew up. I gave many of you guys a hard time, but on the other side I kept myself busy with helping players, and I never gave up on that.

Still, the FOnline community is a thing of it's own class.

Seems to me this is pointless moaning about a small change in a feature which isn't useful yet.

Well, about the sniper/big guns thing...

You base your calculations on combat efficiency base soley on damage vs player/BA/CAmk2/CA/etc correct?

Players, who base their calculations on ingame combat experience almost all agree that big guns are very inferior to snipers right now.  These players, who give their feedback, are constantly met with a defiant "No, they are fine, here are damage calculations" and occassionaly insulting remarks.

For example, They are betatesting, and you call their feedback on this thing moaning and whining.

However this is very offtopic... so I'll stop here.

Ontopic:  It IS a little bit useful, people love to decorate their bases with these things and you plan to introduce a duration for them without giving them a use to make this duration seem like a sensible thing.

They're based on knowing exact average damages, exact chances of any crit result and knowing that the majority of players talk totally out of their arses when it comes to combat balance.

The difference between big and small guns is reasonably small. This is why all past changes to the top end weapons have been small and will continue to be.

You are locking yourself in a cage like holo and assuming that nothing else but a duration will be changed with flares. But as solar has said, with lighting effects working then the proper use of flares will come and here's hoping, more ways to obtain them compared to now. They just dont seem to want to tell us for the moment  :(.
