Flare Duration?

I mean with the availability of flares, having them die out after a set duration would sap the fun out of them because there isnt much practical use for it at the moment (correct me if i'm wrong). I think i did read somewhere or it could have been a suggestion that nightime 21:00 to 09:00 (??) has a penalty due to visibility reasons and a flare thrown at your opponent would allow you to take advantage of his increased visibility.

Afaik getting flares is from dev/gm, ncr rail line quest or some critters (enclave??). Increasing availability from vendors would make a duration to the flare viable otherwise you'll get people hording them in tents/bases to have some night-time lights (and their own virtual rave party  8)).

i know in regular fallout, when its nighttime, throwing a lit flare at an enemy can increase your accuracy when you go to shoot him.  i think its safe to assume it works in fonline.    i havent even seen any yet.

No, light has no influence on anything in the game except making the surrounding brighter.


After the next update, flares will have a duration timer.

aw...... i used to lure enemies close to lightsources in fallout 2.     cool tactic.      would be cool in fonline to see a gang light a place up with flares before the chaos.

meh, maybe one day.
