Where can i find some assault rifle?

Gank city patrols in a area you don't care if you can't travel in or go in the city anymore.
Unity Patrols near BH have NPC's with Assault Rifles. IIRC, the African American Miners near Redding sometimes have Assault Rifles. Sometimes they have sledgehammers, but not always.

best place for assault rifles is gecko reactor. Ghouls have them at 0% completely new, while in random encounters these are in very poor condition. Also these ghouls have just about 60 hp each, so they are really weak targets. For killing all them in reactor you receive like 7-8 assault rifles (2550 caps each), 3 10mm smgs, and 2 shotguns, and 1 10mm pistol :>

Encounter bootleggers and "the gang" anywhere between Reno and Den. Note this will not ever be 0%det, and you'll need some force (here: FS + BROF +2x AB + P90C + JHP) to sage incoming units so that they'd deal no damage to you. Good thing is that you will also find combat shotguns which can sell on average for $1400 to compensate your efforts.
