actually i think flamer does super damage as your first weapon. It does a nice cone , hits for around 30 dam , only real downside is low range but at start you dont realy ahve the skill to hit targets realy far away. compared to other guns you realy need some tier pisols to be able to deal same daamge (pistols mostly do around 20 on same targets - jsut less ap needed.
I would say flamer is totaly fine but ... - 10 MP is qutie alot and the getting rot gut for fuels is pain (6 fruits per pick 6 min CD => 1 fruit per min ...also need 1 wood to destile = 12s.
need 4 rot gut for 20 fuel means 8 apples and 4 wood . that makes almost 9 mins of farm for 20 shots.
Compared to that 10mm ammo
1MP 4 gunpowder 1 junk. TIs 2mins +4 + ~1 = > 7 mins for 100 shots.
the only thing that works for flamer is the cone - if you hit ~3 targets per shot its good ;]
