Very good, White Tiger! Could you do your armors aswell for female bodies, so both genders can use it?

Conventional armor transfer in women is not difficult. But what about things like women's clothes?

I salute your efforts, good sir! Very nice. I wonder if this backpack can be seperated and be used as an item, to allow for more carryweight on characters etc.

Could be additional carryweight when worn, but as downside has -1 to Agility and some small penalty on aiming.
Eh, here's just daydreaming. :)

Lizard modeled a beard and I made some textures for it.

I have some wild idea, how about a new light armor with a flag on its back (like the Reavers show in concept art).

It could give you a +1 or +2 bonus to the amount of people you can lead (as long as they are in the same faction as you?).

can be better just to flag faction, who are in their hands?

Howdy there, mate!
I have a question on behalf of FOnline 2238community, which someone asked on the boards. We're remaking sprites into 3d models and many people loved your work here, like eg. this guy:

So, we wanted to ask if you can give us permission to remake this kind of suit in our 3d version.

I don't know if x'il (who made these) uses the 2238 forums (maybe under a different name?) - but as it's a definite custom critter, it'd be polite to ask permission to try and copy it, and to credit him for the idea. If we do want this doing, maybe someone knows him already from Fallout 2 modding and could ask on my behalf?

Here's our armor work up to this point.

Cheetah.

Very nice work you've done there! :)

Have you checked the animations thread on the modding sub-forum here recently? there's a user who's been uploading various finished made-from-scratch playable character critters; a redhead girl, black guy, etc (or maybe he's one of you guys?)...

As for permissions and stuff; pffft... of course you can! i never actually finished that critter, so if you guys wanna make it be my guest, in fact, if there's any other wipie (or non-wip too) i ever posted that you want to make or re-make go ahead, no need to ask.  :)

x'il.

So yeah, like Surf said. We can make it ^^ White Tiger - your armors are beautiful, maybe you'll give it a shot?
Don't call me your brother
'cause I ain't your fucking brother.

Awesome. Also, yes - if White tiger wants to do it, that'd be good. He'd have it finished and looking beautiful before I next actually have time to even open any 3D programs :)

If not, I'll have a go at it... but it'll be a little while before I have time.

[edit] It's actually very similar to the "a guy with a rocket launcher" model, so can probably be edited from that with a quick adjust and slight retexture.

That sprite its based in the description of Tycho from F1:
Quote
Yuo see: a man in dusty leather armor with a trench coat and gas mask
And Tycho inspired the ranger armor, so it can be a combination of that and the  "a guy with a rocket launcher" model.

But i was wandering if is possible to make clothes like trench coats usable over some armors, this can improve character customization without need to make a lot of new armors.

Sounds good (and ofc it is possible), but AFAIK developers don't want to make a lot slots for each part of clothes (which might be good in my opinion), but instead they want to give us only two slots: one for armor and another for helmet.

A separate clothing slot is an interesting point.

On one hand, it's the method of picking the "coolest looking" armour, with the stat points of the uglier, bulkier armours (like in an rpg with a female warrior wearing a small necklace to give the same protection as a massive helmet, so she can both 'look sexy' and 'not get killed easily').

On the other hand, it would allow a lot regarding customisation, which is one of the main aims of the 3D work - i.e. a gang may have many different armours amongst their members, but all wear jackets / bandanas / waistcoats of a particular colour to help identify them.

However, I don't know how easily such a thing can be implemented - I don't know if the clothing layer setup was part of the original engine, which we cannot change ourselves, or whether it was something Karpov added himself.

I'm far from being an expert, but I think I remember an option to make a lot more armor slots in the engine files. You'd only need to make new Inventory Interfaces to feauture more of these slots. I personally would prefer 4-5 slots to fully customize characters, but I can understand people wanting to "keep it real" and don't do so many different things.

It's not about being not possible, it's because of the style of the game. Beside this, you can die in a few seconds and lose everything. It will be very annoying very soon if you would need to fill up all your inventory armor slots all the time.

unless you make skin parts consumables

for example, you use a right metal brace in inv it will make the forearm section permanently metalic, even if you die

this way we can custumize chars without the risk of dieing
