Crushing/Melting perks both do the same, they basically destroy the enemies armor in no time. In case the target has no armor, it has a random 10% chance on crippling a random limb (if aimed shot, it gives +5% to critical tables). Each hit grants much higher %det gain on targets armor than a gun without the Crushing/Melting perk. This, can be used to absolutely destroy someones armor in case the gun isn't powerful enough to fully penetrate the armor. Unless APA are implemanted (or if everyone had 600HP), it will be faster to direclty shot with normal weapons, and be able to loot an armor not so deteriorated, than destroy his armor first.So, useless for me.
PK vs some loner walking around with plasma pistol. Now PK thinks: if he survive my first strike He will fock my armor up a little. It's not worth it. 10-20 Deter per encounter is just not worth trouble. Also we gone have some use of fastshoot plasma build.I like idea.
Mmmmh... I heavily doubt the PK will think like that. For me it would worth it. And most of them won't check gear before shooting anyway.I thought just this way.
Next time someone will think before attacking a random guy with a plasma pistol, even if the attacker has a BA, nobody wants a broken BA, do we?

Unarmed builds are somehow easier to lvl than melee weapon builds (at least for a loner, who can't afford buying 2 supersledges + armor every day).
