Author Topic: Permament reputation bonus due to the joining/leaving factions (no hopping!)  (Read 1158 times)


The only real complaint I have with the -100 is that it seemingly makes there no punishment to killing someone in town. (Just got minigunned point blank in ncr and he walked out of town then walked back in to try and get the gear. Crowd got the gear - they were like vultures. Combat armor does that to people I guess.)


Well I like it becouse now crafters will have a chance of getting friendly with several factions again, I don't get it why crafters must be punished so hard just becouse they want to get a 3d level profession.


Because we don't want to have "faction hopping".


Coz' last patch have implented reputation-system changes in time (returning to natural zero), I have to say something..

So make faction karma traits incrasing/decreasing reputation permamently, regardless of the standard reputation system! Or attach inc/decr to the profession lvl (vide Gunsmith Small[3]), as it was done before wipe. For example:

Gunsmith Smallguns [3]
Level of profession blah blach achieved due to the joining Raiders, blah, blah.
Effects:
- Gunsmith Smallguns crafting level 3
-1000 rep in VC
- 500 rep in NCR
+1000 rep in Bishop Family

Hmm.. yap, now it's in the right place ^^

Just so I get it straight. You want permanent karma set for those joining a faction? And it should stay that way even after they leave the faction?

Permament reputation modifier.

Example:
Normal player for killing VC caravan lose 500 rep. He got -500 VC Reputation, which gonna slowly increase to 0.
Former Raider player for killing VC caravan lose 500 rep. He already have -1000 due to his Raider-episode, so he receive -1000-500=-1500, which gonna slowly increase to -1000.

You were a Raider. VC citizens are aware of that and they simply don't trust you. Normal wanderer can do a few mistakes in VC area. You can do none.

So when you kill npc, caravans and PK in guarded towns you recover your reputation like nothing happened?

But when you join raiders/enclave to get lvl 3 profession you get PERMAMENT reputation drop and you get shafted in the a**. wat?

That's wrong and stupid. It should be the other way. Messing with guards should lead to permament consequenses, while rep penalty from joining faction
should fade away. If you're keeping the peace people should eventually forget about you joining raiders in the past and see you as respect member.

I agree with mentant. Especially when you leave the faction (but it would be fine if the rep. with the faction you left stays somehow low).

Being in npc factions don't have enough benefit for this, once you get the training its just a liability.

Hello, regardless of normal repution system I said.

SO, ONCE AGAIN:
- killing NPC decrease rep as it does now.
- rep regenerates within time as it does now.

REGARDLESS OF THAT
- If you are Raider, you have bonus -2000 rep in VC
- If you were Raider, you have bonus -1000 rep in VC (you can enter city, but guards watch over you carefully..) and -2000 for Raiders

Being a crafter of (3) IS a benefit :P

Coz' the DEVS implented rep regeneration, I'm lookin' the way to nerf it :P
