Is using a router alting?
« on: January 21, 2010, 02:49:55 am »

Ok so if you play on a Lan with others on different computers in the same house, you can still get in trouble for alting?

I don't want to lose my account or get jailed for alting when I'm not.

no but:
chars with the same IP in the same time will be transported into admins room ( nice one with jail skin :))) ) and there some sort of test...

example..

Starring: Admin as a master one
char A - Sam
char B - John

Admin: hey ar Sam turn around and dont stop!
Admin: and you John dont stop to talk with me and answer my Q ...and dont stop to talk and answer my Q
after 1 minute:
heeey Sam...turn around faster....and dont stop that nice movement with your ass
and you John what is your favorite NPC in Fallout 3
after 4min....
when all is ok than char will be teleported into location admin choose, some save town
when not...jail is near :)

because: when alting on the 2 comp at same place it is hard for one people to turn around at one keybord and answer Q on the other keybord ( here could be some else command as turning around because of it could be done with some hard and thin object place on the key ">" )

I dont know if there is possibility to run FO at 1 computer(1 windows) at some time , there will be hard to turn around and answer at the some time... it is nearly impossible , maybe with some special program .... :)))

but if someone play with 2 comp in the work or home and have comp near each other, admin control with turning and answering should be cheated as I described

trully I have 2 comp as I described, but ALWAYS I have logged only 1 char at the same time.... so logoff char A and login char B at the same time

sry for english

Right, what I'm saying is that I was NOT alting, but was told not to alt.

What I'm asking is; if my roomate logs into his account on his computer in his room, and I log in to my account on my computer in my living room, and my brother logs into his account on the laptop, and they are all running through the same router, using the same internet connection, is that going to get me or any of them thrown in jail?

I don't see why it would, they all have different IP's and are all running at the same time.

I'm just paranoid about playing with my friends now, which sucks especially since I just got enough $$ saved up to buy a base and ditch that stupid tent, but I need them with me.

no all of you behind router dont have differend IP because before router ( from outside if someone check you ) is the IP the same for all of you

If you thing that you have differend IP it is only differend IP locally behind your router so any of you have differend IP but only it is only for your router.

so anyone outside see all of you with the same IP (it is IP that internet provider give you )

so you all can play, no problem but from time to time you have to do test with admins as I described at my post up there.
it is up to admins that if once you past that anti ALT test that another time they see all of you play FO with same IP they leave you, because once you past that anti alt test

admins have "room" or window or how it calls that they see PL that play at the same time with the same IP .... or I think it is like that

Ok that makes sense. But what if we don't pass the test? We get jailed for no reason? I hope not, cuz it's hard enough to level up as it is, and that would be a huge deterrence from even bothering to play.

And what if someone is being tested and doesn't understand english so well to pass the test, because he doesn't even know what is he supposed to do? There is no requirement of knowing English language at even beginner's level when you want to play the game, no conditions you have to accept.

Looks like we need a thread "how to pass an admin test" ;D Seriously, they are all people (at least most of them gave me such an impression) They won't make you do anything you can't do and hopefully they'll not get you banned for just not knowing English.
PS If there will be any trouble with Russians not knowing English, feel free to pm me on the forum, I check it regularly, I'll help them to communicate.

We already have a russian GM to make sure no one is handled unfair. ;)
Some rudimentary abilities of speaking english are needed on this server though.

I wonder what the GM would do if the players being tested automatically started running around in circles and shouting things simultaneously?

Would they still use that fucking hammer?

quite easy... all you need is to pretype the conversation, the time it takes to scroll up while running, while dual logged is about the same time it takes to type it running on single log... tested this crap a loong time ago, prewipe to be pinpoint, never got caught by a GM in the first place though, halfsack was on at that time, i think... . It takes some time for the GM to notice that someone has dual logged, I hardly think that a red flashing bulb appears on the screen playing this for a GM when someone dual logs.

So, yes, the GM will smack the banhammer in your eyes.

When I have got LAN party with my friends and we have played FOnline: no problems.

Just contact some GM before you start or just start playing and wait until they teleport you to them. Then explain the situation and do the simple task.
