*facepalm loop* To infinity and beyond!
Anyway I don't think that Bethe$da tricked us in any way other than creating shitty game. When you compare F3 and FNV then there is one major difference: story. F3 and its quality of quests, dialogues, story, background, atmosphere etc. was at the freezing point at best. The quality radically increased when Obsidian guys took over the development. And no matter what else they introduced into the game (HC mod, aiming, weapon mods, follower wheel, geckos etc.) the game would be the same shit all over again if it lacks the story and logic.
In New Vegas when there is a city, then there is electric/food/water supply, trade connections with outside world, economics and political problems etc. The world follows simple logic and everything fits together perfectly. And when you add good dialogues and story to it, you get something worth playing. But my feeling from 10 hours playtime of F3 were like this game was made not "By gamers for gamers" but "By retards for retards" - literary. Dialogues followed simple pattern 1st line = good answer, 2nd = neutral answer, = 3rd = negative and that was it. NPCs acted like idiots not to mention irritating storyline and huge flaws in it.
Simply F3 was stupid while FNV is not. When you add something extra such as those geckos, weapons, dehydratation etc. then I call it a notneeded bonus that can enchance the gaming experience. But just for the record Gamebryo is lame engine to begin with so I would rather skip rating the technical side of the game. But in the end technical side does not even matter to me as long as the game is enertaining (not irritating). And that is what Obsidian fellas do with games, they make the time spend playing them worth it.
