Ox's story.
« on: March 24, 2012, 10:56:22 pm »

Billowing dust and stinging sand, the only companions accompanying Ox on the dusty road to The Hub. Cresting a familiar hill, he see's the faint glow of the hub in the distance, eagerly he lashes his whip across the brahmin's hide urging the beast on. A cracking gunshot echos upon the plains. Immediatly alert, he pulls up the wagon and draws his ancient Desert Eagle and scans the area......

The pain of the searing acid is almost to much to bear, as she runs with pounding feet, pursued by two Raiders, eager for their kill. With one eye runied and burning pain coarsing through her face, she spins on her heel sending a snapshot straight through the left eye of the pursuing raider. Continuing her run, she notices the edge of a cliff, trying to take cover she takes one through the shoulder. Her gun lost and unconsiousnous threathing to engulf her, she feebly crawls to the edge, peering over she sees a caravan. Hmmmmm its not that far, at the most i'll probably break a leg she thinks to herself while falling through the air, gratefully she passes out......

Crouched in an aclove Ox waits for events to unfold. Risking a glance he goes to have a look, a body hurtles past him thudding into the ground with a sickening crack. "Jesus christ" he curses to himself, taking notice, he sees its a long blonde haired woman and half of her face is burnt away. A gunshot narrowly misses Ox, he quickly drags the unconsious woman into the alcove, "Come and get me you motherfucking brahmin fucker" yells ox.

The Hub, a haven of traders and assorted criminals, malnorished beggers dot the streets, while the guards keep a watchful eye on the rabble. A despicable bunch the lot of them, Boon thinks as he steps through into the Maltese Falcon. Assailed with smells he dare not try to identify he takes his usual spot near the bar. The bartender glances at Boon, "I take you want your usual?", asks the bartender. Boon grunts his response, and fishes into his cap pouch, " I take it that will include the owed caps" she says expectantly. Boon curses under his breath and hands over one hundred caps, "Give me my fucking rum" he says frustratedly, "what crawled up your arse and died?" she asks.
Slaming his fist onto the bar, he says "bloody Ox hasnt arrived yet, and he has one thousand caps of mine from some shit he sold for me", slaming down a shot of rum, he continues on, " and im fucking broke, this bottle is all i own right now, he should hav been here hours ago!", Boon slams down several more shots of rum.

The Vipers, people tremble at the thought of them, cast furtive glances, and generally try to forget they exist. Checking his firearm, Skunk picks his way down to the path below. Furious at the death of Bison, he is determined to make that bitch pay....dearly. A gunshot just narrowly misses his head, spraying chips of rock into his face, he dives for cover taking refuge behind a boulder. With warm blood trickling down his face, his heart racing, he takes a glance over the rock. With an echoing gunshot, purposfully aimed, shards of stone spray into Skunks eyes. Blinded ,fear and rage engulfing him he rises screaming, shooting wildy. Stumbling along, his scream of rage turns in to one of agony, as his knee shatters, the leg almost severed he falls face first onto the ground. Ox approches the the man, mewling pitiful sounds coming from Skunks blood covered face. Sickened by the sounds Ox puts the man out of his misery, only then noticing the Viper tattoo on the mans neck.
With a hurried urgency, Ox quickly strips the man of his vaulubles, creates a rough sling for the the womans broken arm and bandages her wounded shoulder. With less care than he would have liked he hauls the woman onto his wagon and sets off.

Not going as fast as he would like to, Ox starts to think about the blonde haired woman, and the Viper gang member he wasted. He turns to look at the woman, " I should just fucking dump you here",he silently curses to himself. Lashing the whip, his thoughts turn to Boon, "no doubt he is crying about me being late", muses Ox.

To be continued.......
