Fineese = more average damage?
« on: March 11, 2012, 06:28:20 pm »

i asked about it in few topics but decided to start a new topic exlusively abot it.

according to new rule fineese +30dr goes away if you score ANY critical, making it ,obviously, a must have for a damage sniper build and effectively removing crippler class from a game.

solar said something that it is to counter helmets critical mods.

but wouldnt it be more logical to just buff right between the eyes perk ???

please dont make us rebuild our sniper builds!!!!

another thing ,if we actually start to rebuild our snipers ,maybe the fineese will be brought to normal and we end up suck again...

please dont make unnecesary confusion and bring back old fineese !

devs please respond
thank you

We share consensus.

My brainstorm.

Maybe it would be more logical to buff Rbte to ignore 75% of critical chance modifier , that way ensuring the viability of the perk as a choice rather than a must , we already have " even more critical " what is a no brainer. It would prove very efficient against combat helmets but losing it's worth on lower tier protection and becoming completely useless if the target doesn't have any head protection. Then again , in that case rbte wouldn't have any significant advantage over the simple " more critical " what has low requirements in comparison.

So after all this i would try to buff Rbte to ignore 50% of critical chance modifier and critical power modifier , making it a good all around perk for snipers , but at the same time i would hardly call that a no brainer , after all it has high requirements , no solar ?

Don't see the need to buff fineese or helmets , it would just make things messy.

I am confused. Is this change already in-game, or will some future patch change every critical to bypass armour?

its not that every critical bypass armor , its that every critical ignores
+30dr added from fineese if you have this trait, making it the same ridiculous must have as fast shot was for bursters in previous sessions

I hope that this will not be implemented. As already mentioned, this would bury the whole sniper crippler class, so there would be only finesse snipers.

Yup, no idea why finess what looks balanced and work propertly for a long time must be changed.
Only new features like rbte and helmets must be adjusted.

It's because snipers got nerfed hard overall, finesse needs to be balanced as well...
It was working pre-wipe.

its not fineese what has to be ballanced but rbte perk

Before the Wipe:
3 MC, 10 Luck, Better Criticals, Targetting Eyes

After Wipe:
2 MC, 10 Luck, Better Criticals, RBtE, Targetting Eyes, Finesse

Both of these have the same crit chance targetting CA Helmets, but the afterwipe version takes an extra trait slot and has the -crit roll effect of the helmet and the 30% DR for the 5-10% shots that aren't criticals.

You also have the potential of MoS and Bonehead for a total of -30 on the table (-10 after Better Crits is added) vs the standard +20 before wipe.
I think they know what they are doing, this change has been thought out well.
You still can use a sniper without finesse, but one with it will just be better.

sure, having every crit based build on the server reroll 2months in the season is a well thought out change.

I wouldnt have minded if they introduced this change with the wipe, but now I think that they are ways to get similar results without changing traits so that noone has to reroll. that is basically the whole point.

So why would anyone make a build without it? We have already had this, it was called fastshot big gunners.

It's a beta, don't expect your builds to be permanent. I once spent  months lvling a sneak/leader with no combat skills and once i hit 21 they nerfed sneak, nerfed mercs and made withdrawing caps from the bank impossible. Months of grinding to make an awesome build gone in an update.
