Alien bones
« on: February 21, 2012, 08:43:13 am »

A few minutes ago, I went into a cave and there was a skeleton on the floor with a really big head, like an alien. It wasn't just a normal cave skeleton, because I could search the body. But I had nothing on me and there were mercs in the cave, so I died.

Does anyone know what the deal with that was? Someone told me you have to use science on the skeleton.

...actually, Delphius, that quote is from a Shakespeare play. From Shakespeare to A Boy and His Dog to Fallout.

I've seen them in caves though i don't think i ever got anything off them before.
I saw a few dead "wastelanders" last session, so it could be something like that.

Last several sessions they've been in caves, and I used to check them all, never got anything.  Now that doesn't mean they don't have something on them, just that I had bad luck.  I'm not certain if they have anything or not, it never hurts to check when you're cave hoppin.

Has anyone tried to use science on them?

Bumping this because no one ever fully explained what it was.

I beleive they are like the dead wastelanders, and have a chance to carry loot on them.

Ever get an answer? It has been my understanding that if you find the alien bones, then you find a rare pistol when you search him. Either a Solar Scorcher or a Pulse Pistol, or maybe a Phazer or a Zip Gun. I am disappointed to hear that people found the bones, but didn't find any cool item. I have searched many many caves and best thing i ever found was a fresh CA in the floor.

Alien Bones were put there by God to test peoples faith.

i have seen alien bones 3 times within the last couple months, each time empty.
i used science on the corpse in an attempt to collect it into my inventory like a craftable container to no avail, and it did nothing.

It's a leftover from F1.
It's nothing serious.

Or maybe it was the goverment who turned the alien bodies from Roswell into pixels and used ancient alien technology to mind control the Devs and make them put it in this game, then they had secret agents infiltrate this forum and make up false stories so they could fool the public into believing it was just a joke bringing the giant twist to this already tangled conspiracy.

Or maybe it was just for teh lolz ;)

If you science or look through the alien body, you might find a solar scorcher and such. It depends on your luck, and I think your OD.
