name that wipe
« on: December 08, 2010, 02:35:00 pm »

Lets say that FOnline is a book.
Devs are publishers and we(players) are writers.

There is one missing thing - chapter names.
so lets say that every different wipe is a chapter. what would be names of those chapters?

im pretty sure that there was about 5 wipes *correct me if im wrong

1. prehistoric
2. or 3. -crafting/gathering revolution
4. wipe of drugs(jet+psycho powah :])
5. broken TC wipe/ wipe of stealing

There is no sense in talking about eras or in naming wipes. During CBT3 there were periods where one wipe was happening every week. Yet no one is counting them. Talking about "eras" with wipes as milestones is not accurate when it comes to a game in beta.

Well the second era should be dedicated to Modoc and the third is the era of Great War between NA and DA. I agree that the fourth era is definetly the era of drugs. The broken TC and stealing arent stuff that should be this era named about. I would wait until the end to see what was the defining moment.

With every wipe comes a big update and the relationships are forged again. I see no reason why not to use wipe as millstones. The players I know, and thats not only my teammates, use this terms.

Beta is the prehistory of a game; yet prehistory is not part of history.

I wonder when this game if ever will loose the status "beta". Besides, you stated your opinion about wheter to call the eras by names or not. Ok, I got it. Yet there are lot of players that call the eras by names and could be intertesting disscusion, so please let this topic be the place to discuss the names and not wheter to name it or not.

That's just my opinion, you can have fun finding names for every so-called "season" if you want to :P

You replied to me Bantz :(
I am aware of that. And you re-replied with the argument that I find realy...well not realy an argument, given the current state of development. So I see how the disscusion will go-the same way as the disscusion about when 2238 started. So ok, delete my replys for sake of the thread.

EDIT: You take stuff that personaly please, I never accused you of censoring, I WANT the replys deleted.

You talked about censoring replies, not me. I'm fine with this thread actually. Let's get back on the tracks.

Maybe just for you.
I love the idea of naming eras by the most interesting changes, such as nerfing avengers, fast shot changes, car changes, bunker implementions ect.

PS what about "the era of sneak"? xD
