1 flint should make 2 rocks, this way there will be a source other than homeless.
-
good idea.
-
You can find rocks in caves as well.

sure or check ghoul scavenger encounters. but it seems he needs a "easy to craft" throwing weapon huh?
-
I generally get them from scavengers.... and no to craftable rocks. when you try to make 1 flint into 2 rocks, you get 2 tiny flint pebbles. But yah there should be more rocks in random encounters.
-
Why no? You can't say they are op, they are fun to throw at people and should be nearly unlimited. I mean it's a frigging rock, what the entire planet is pretty much made of.
-
So it can be gatherable from rocks in encounters. Use hammer on rock and get 2-5 rocks.
-
or make 1 iron ore in 5 rocks

gatherable seems the easiest way to implement this idea..

yeah it makes the most sense too, any rock should do.
-
Flint shouldn't be the option. Flint is pretty flimsy compared to granite. I like LagMaster's idea of 1 ore = a couple of rocks.
I agree that is stupid how the only way to get these is from ghoul encounters, and the very rare, one rock you might find in cave.
-
Personally, I found it odd that rocks are not to be found on random encounter maps.
It's a rock. While you might look for the brand-name Solid version, a generic kind usually would suffice as well.
If there's anything the Wasteland ought to have aplenty it's rocks...
Edit, because if there isn't a missing word or misspelling, I done something wrong.

it's a reasonably good weapon when used by a martial artist as well, 12 attacks in a round (without drugs) at 1-19 damage per attack.

1-19 dmg? wut I thought its 1-4 or 1-2...but anyway no rocks in wasteland COME ON......

I support the rock crafting.
By the way, did anyone tried using goldnuggets in HtH? They may use 3AP per hit, but deal 3-6 damage.

Haymaker does more damage, and costs the same amount of AP. If using ore was better than your fist, than I would be using Refined Uranium to hit people with, but even Uranium still isn't as powerful as a Haymaker. A 1-4 damage rock is good because it is only 2 AP (1 AP with Bonus HtH attacks).
-
just a little something i got from vedaras after he left.
This should be proof enough. Rock at 1AP and 1-19 damage, Haymaker at 2AP at 8-24 damage, so tell me, which one is better?

haymaker since it ads 15% chance to crit
-
damn, didn't think of that...
-
rock damage mostly gets absorbed by armour anyways, and i don't see what vedaras has to do with anything since the rock thing has been around forever.
-
no, what io meant was that I got vedaras's hth, main, after he left, never mind, shit...
-
ah
-
i'm just keeping it warm for him, in case he feels like coming back, i've even gone as far as leaving a CA from his hoard in his main's inevntory...

Yes, critical for Haymaker is 15%, but that doesn't mean anything if you aren't going for a critical build.
Also, vedaras' build looks like it has Heavy Handed and Bonus HtH Damage with it, along with 10 ST. The base damage for a rock is only 1-4.
No matter what the stats of the weapon are, it doesn't matter really, because they aren't an overpowered rarity or anything, and being able to craft them from ore would make perfect sense if you still want to be able to use a rock without having to fight hoards of Ghoul Scavengers.
-
oh, wait, it is 6-24 on rock (with living anatomy) and 13-29 per haymaker that ex-vedaras has, gotta love the bastard, he made an awesome grinding build with 185 hp and double toughness.
No, i'm all for crafting the rock, would make for an easier time with my experimental rockman punchah
